notes

Sean: Vocals and Guitar, Phil: Bass, and Dennis: Drums share similar musical influences and have the same commitment and dedication to creating music. Performing together since August of 2001, The Ripple Effect have established a loyal following which continues to grow with each performance. Their set list varies from all original material, of which they have over 20 songs to choose, to a mixture of original and cover songs, ranging from current radio to re-vamped versions of 70's and 80's rock hits. The members of The Ripple Effect have performed up and down the East Coast headlining and in support of many national acts, including: Quiet Riot, Great White, L.A. Guns, Coal Chamber, Kix, and King's X, as well as many others.

The Ripple Effect recorded a 5 song sampler CD, of which the original 500 pressed sold during the first six months. Today, there are well over 1000 copies of this CD, entitled Me, Myself, and Dennis, in circulation. Included on this CD is the song Rock Star, which was featured on ASA's skateboarding and aggressive in-line skating series; broadcast on ESPN in October and November of 2001. The song has also been featured on the Unsigned Music Network, based in Encino, California and broadcast internationally on unsignedmusicnetwork.com. In addition, The Ripple Effect have gained notoriety on the website mp3.com, having 3 #1 songs in Baltimore, MD, as well as the website sonicgarden.com, where the band has been a featured artist, and listed in "The Buzz". They have just finished recording their full length follow-up CD, Makin' Waves, now available on CDBaby.com

The Ripple Effect put everything both physically and emotionally into each performance, and their audience feels their passion, as is evident by the increasing number of people at each venue in which The Ripple Effect perform. When asked his thoughts about what it takes to make good music, Sean replied, "If it is real, it will be remembered. If it is heard, it will be shared".

There is one thing for sure, when you hear, you won't forget. It started with one man's vision and a drummer, soon you too will be caught up in...The Ripple Effect.

  • My cuppa rock!!

This review is for the song Crazy: My cuppa rock!! Right from the start and every delicious note to the end, you had me rockin! Your song has a groove deeper than the Marianas Trench, hoo yeah!! Had to smile at the lyrics in the beginning, something so many people can relate to at one time or another! Raves for the arrangement here, there isn't one thing I'd change in it. You packed it together so well! Nice tight rhythm section here, and everyone bringing their best groove to the table! The intensity build from start to finish was fantastic! I'd love to see your band do this song live, I bet the vocalist is rivetting as he's singing this! Great performance there! He's nailed the emotion in this song perfectly, and all the words are clear. The back up vocals are doing a great job. Again, the arrangement is incredible here too! I loved the 'call and response' section at the end. Songwriter penned a winner here, and I'm lovin the chord progression. Jammy little funkin goin on under the verse from the guitar, and a blistering solo too! Most impressive dimension in your tune, all the little things I notice in the structure, fantastic! I know some reviewers will be beseeching you to modernize your sound, but ignore that... you've put it together well, so just keep up the good work! This tune is bound for some playlists and if there is a CD, eventually I'll get that for my collection! Good luck with your music, 2 lighters lit! Extra Credit: Male Vocals, Guitars, Drums, Bass, Production, Lyrics, Beat, Mood, Most Rocking Track. I have NO doubt the rest of the CD is just as awesome as this song and look forward to finding out since I just ordered it!

  • Powerful... Emotional... packed full of melody!
author: Alex K. (A-Z music magazine)

From the opening intro' of "Drowning Away", the first track on this 9 song demo by The Ripple Effect I was intrigued to say the least. I was assaulted by cymbal crashes, guitar harmonies, and audible explosions which all melded into a tremendous wall of sound. Each song I listened to had its own identity, and there were bright spots at every step of the way, both musically and lyrically. The song "Rock Star" tells the story of a karaoke singer with a desire for... well... exactly what the title says, although I think the song is more personal than the band would probably admit, and I can't say that it would be a bad thing, because at the rate these guys are going, it's only a matter of time before they are "Makin' Waves" and livin' the rock star life.
