notes
"Jazz Guitar Dreams" is a collection of jazz standards and original pieces. The trio guitar format is explored on standards such as "Have You Met Miss Jones" and "How Deep is the Ocean". The solo guitar pieces "Cavatina (Theme from the Deerhunter)" and "Blue Finger" round out this CD of Swing, Latin and Bebop.
“Poignant, animated, challenging, experimental, kickin,’ ..And this is only how I felt as I heard the 1’st kick-off tune. …West coast jazz guitarist Rich Arnold displays a prodigious talent indeed….. All in all, a project delivered in the spirit of an extensive study in collective improvisation.”
George W. Carroll – Jazz Review.com
“This man can play. His lines are crafted from the Jazz Guitar vernacular falling somewhere between Joe Pass and early George Benson, but with a distinct sound of his own. ……he shreds the fretboard in all directions with taste and style brought about by years of playing and listening.”
Lyle Robinson – Jazz Guitar Life.com
