notes
This four song EP was recorded in 1993 by Mike Shamblin at Shamblin Recording Studios in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was originally intended to be a demo for record labels, and the initial tracks for a full length album. However, we were never able to finish recording the project due to the sudden and unfortunate death of our multi-talented lead singer, Brad Ballard. This project is dedicated to his loving memory (1970-1993). He had one heck of a voice!
Rhythm Junction was formed in 1992 by Jimmy Stevens and Duncan Freeman while they attended college at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The band quickly developed a regional audience, and signed with national booking agencies after only playing two shows. Unfortunately, just as the band was beginning to create a following throughout the Southeast, John Bradford Ballard past away, and the band disolved immediately after performing it's remaining gigs that were under contract.
Rhythm Junction was:
Brad Ballard: vocals, guitars, harmonica
Jimmy Stevens: guitars
Duncan Freeman: percussion, vocals, guitars
Shem Rhea: piano, organ
Dale Hicks: bass, vocals
Adam Fiener: Drums
John Mark Turner: guitars (a founding member who later joined Blues Old Stand)
Mike Shamblin: piano and organ from time to time
* Joe Garner of Atlanta joined the band as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player upon Brad's death
