notes

NY's Rhythm Bound! presents an energetic mix of original rockabilly music on their debut CD. This is a real fine mix of the many styles that rockabilly can encompass - from hard hitting modern rockabilly to a Johnny Cash train beat, then to a late 50's type ballad - these guys showcase how vibrant and ecclectic rockabilly music can be in the 21st Century.

Members of Rhythm Bound! have backed up rockabilly greats Brian Setzer, Wanda Jackson, the Belmont Playboys, and can currently be seen with Robert Gordon and the Rockats!

  • reconstruction rockabilly
    author: soteralu

If I had not known this was a modern band, I would have assumed that someone had been up late a whole bunch of nights remastering some unknown Sun artists. These guys are the real deal.

  • real rockabilly

simple as this.thanks guys for keeping the music alive.

  • Rythm Bound is REAL Rockabilly.
    author: Craig Champagne

This is an awesome Rockabilly CD. The guitar and other instruments sound particularly authentic, and really set this group apart from most Rockabilly and Roots Rock. It's apparent to my ear that RB uses vintage instruments, vintage amps and vintage effects. They are the real deal.

I Own 100 Rockabilly CD's, but this one is going in the top 5!!

  • Top-notch rockabilly. These guys have the feel.
    author: Tom Byers

I've got a couple hundred rockabilly CDs, and have them all rated on a scale of 1-5. Seldom does a new group come along that has all the essentials (voice, slap bass, guitar licks, melodic tunes) on their first CD, but these guys have it all. Doesn't get better than this!

  • Rockabilly Extraordinaire!!!!
    author: Norm Weggeland

The guitar playing by Brian Hack reminded me of Carl Perkins & was great but, the great sound on this CD is Tom Hopkins' "Slap" Bass. WOW!!!!

  • Great Rockabilly Album!
    author: Mike Gonzalez

This is truly a diamond in the rough! This album gets your toes tapping at the very beginning and they don't stop. You really have to listen to alot of albums in order to find one like this. Great rockabilly music that I hope they never change.

  • Excellent old school Rockabilly!

  • An exceptional example of Traditional Rockabilly music!
    author: Larry Shell

With the release of this CD, the East Coast’s best kept secret is out for the entire world to find out, that RB is one of the finest traditional rockabilly bands playing today! The CD includes such RB classics as MAD DOG MEAN, BORN TO LOVE YOU, BEAST IN ME, RIDE THE LONELY TRAIN, LITTLE GIRL'S ROCKIN', ROCKABILLY RED, and the always knockout, JUNGLE FEVER, plus many more! The mostly original tunes sound as if they were written in the back room of Sun Studios before the session started! Like their frequent area performances, this CD rocks from start to finish and that’s the truth, so sayeth the Jersey Wildcat!!!

  • Won't leave your CD player - rockin' start to finish
    author: Cheryl Doto

You won't be disappointed. All killer, no filler. This band is the real deal - powerhouse tracks from start-to-finish. Song writing and execution top-notch. Rockabilly at it's best.

  • Absolutely superb!
    author: Howard Raucous, Raucous Records

Rhythm Bound's 'Born To Love You' is the absolutely superb debut album from a brilliant Rockabilly 4-piece from New York. This album has 16 great tracks (15 originals) played in a number of Rockin' styles. The songs are catchy, the beat is lively and infectious, the singing and musical performance is top-notch and the production is perfect. Rhythm Bound's style captures the spirit of traditional Rockabilly music without sounding dated. Excellent!

  • World-class Rock-a-billy for a new generation!
    author: Michael Zabrocki, bscd

This is true grit, world-class, rock-a-billy! You would think the boys in this "New Yawk" band cut their teeth in Memphis! This CD is destined to become a collectors item! It's just a matter of time before the industry gets hold of these guys! Hope they remain true to their calling as their star rises! Highly listenable, re-listenable, danceable, commendable and recommendable!!!!!
