What Michael Gallant of KEYBOARD magazine calls "repositioning the proven hybrid of edgy female vocals & dark, grooving electronics used by Garbage, Portishead & Mechanical Birds. Original, sophisticated, skillfully crafted, and highly listenable."

notes
Return to Mono is an electronic rock band from San Francisco featuring the vocals of Tanya Kelleher, the guitar and bass of J.G. Paulos and the electronics, keys and beat-programming of Andy Sibylrud.
This collaboration began as Andys studio brainchild which merges progressive electronic beats and sound design with the organic purity and spirit of songwriting. This vision became RETURN TO MONO: a synthesis of waves and velocities by way of breakbeat, electro-clash, drum and bass, rock, trip hop, glitch-ambient, and beyond. Andys electronically encoded experiments reveal a tactful and fluid alchemy.
Tanya Kelleher, formerly of "Eeor" (feat. Sigtryggur Baldursson/Sugarcubes), relocated to San Francisco and joined RETURN TO MONO. Tanya's versatile performance and poetics never fail to captivate. Whether shes delivering a low sultry evocative drawl or rising to a battle cry of transcendence, Tanya Kelleher emotes playful and soulful imagery which spirals between emotional trajectories of the chaotic and divine.
Traversing vast tonalities, ranging from ethereal ambient soundscapes to heavy post-punk dissonance, J.G. Paulos joined RETURN TO MONO in 2005. His multi-instrumentalism cross-bonds electric and acoustic guitar, bass, and analog synth, revealing a vast tonal axis which unites and divides these polarities.
Listen to what Keyboard magazine calls "Repositining the proven hybrid of edgy female vocals and dark, grooving electronics sed by Garbage, Portishead & Mechanical Birds", and what Nitevibe says "delivers a larger than life performance that makes for an incredible one-night journey."

Involution Revolution
author: William J BeanA wonderful melding of electronica with the smoky vox of Tanya Kelleher. Not only are the tunes haunting, familiar (yet not), and intriguing, they are also beautifully engineered. Every single note, instrument, and sound is clear, perfectly balanced (nothing overpowers anything else) and perfectly matched. This is a studio engineer's "wet dream"; something to study and admire. Jim Paulos (bass & guitar) and Andy Sibylrud (keyboard & sound programming) teamed with Tanya Kelleher are the perfect match! I expect to see this band do very well on the national scene. When?!?!? Studio heads you need this!
Excellent songs!
author: NicoleI first heard one of their mp3's on garageband.com and immediately looked for material to purchase. This CD hit the spot! Each track compliments the other. Very consistent beats and vocals with a kick ass style throughout the whole album. I only wish it was longer than 32 minutes though. Still a great buy! Im ordering more for friends!
Sweet trip-hop female vocals
author: RedThis CD is great. I heard the first track on IndieFeed podcast and went right out to buy the whole album. Each track was just as much of a treat if not more than the last. I would buy it again if I didn't already own it!
Expectations fulfilled!
author: Eric Van LustbaderEver since I heard this band on Download.com I've been waiting patiently for this CD. I only wish it was longer, because each track is better than the last. Absolutely the best trip-hop CD since the last Portishead album. Buy it. Buy it now!
