notes

The Repeats Story:

Some of the more refreshing entertainment to come out of Minneapolis since The Mary Tyler Moore Show. With sharp musical contrast, bright harmonies and a tint of glam. Their songs are like listening to two minute power pop episodes of Seinfeld without those funky bass interludes.

To tune in their sound you'll need to change the channel to the early 80's and readjust the rabbit ears a bit to picture The Replacements holding up their end of the bar down from Merle Haggard at that place where everybody knows your name.

Meet The Repeats:

Brian Eggen plays bass and sings backup vocals
Paul Kraft plays drums and sings backup vocals
Al Paul sings and plays guitar

The Repeats "P" 5 Inch:

The third of six (limited edition) autographed colored CDs packaged in flying discs. What's a 5 Inch? We're glad you ask! Basically it's a 7 inch released on CD. For all you kids out there to young to remember. There was a time before iPods and iTunes when you couldn't wait to stick a needle in the groove of that 45 rpm virgin vinyl from "insert your very most favorite band here" just to hear the B side that wasn't being played on the radio. So we thought hey, lets put some fun back into being a fan! We've decided to release six of these so called 5 inches. Each one a different color, autographed and packaged in flying discs. Oh yeah we almost forgot the coolest part, the interior photo of each booklet will combine to create a full-sized poster.

Shoes In Your Closet:

I’ll bet you have more shoes
Then skeletons in your closet

And I’ll bet you better things to do
Then clip coupons for the market

Where your standing in line reading the tabloid headlines
With more than paper or plastic on your mind

And I’ll bet you have more than that one tattoo
Of three barbed wires wrapped like a tourniquet

Where your standing in line reading the tabloid headlines
With more than paper or plastic on your mind

Now your holding up express
With more than eight items or less
In that purple polyester plaid print dress

Drive Me To Drink:

Well if friends don’t let friends drive drunk
Then why do you drive me to drink

She called at two a.m. and said your still not home
Can smell that whiskey on your breath through the telephone
Now you best leave that bottle alone

But before I call myself a cab
I better sit down hell I can barely stagger
Back from that Wurlitzer

Well if friends don’t let friends drive drunk
Then why do you drive me to drink

But before I step one foot in that cab
I’m gonna sing along to Merle Haggards’
Swinging Doors
