renata is a modern rock band topped with soulful, meaningful vocals, compared a lot with U2, Matchbox20 or the Counting Crows. This is the band's first album, released in 2000. Songs from this album have been featured on MTV's, Undressed and licensed to Columbia Tri-Star, for use on the hit series, Dawson's Creek. Following the release of this record the band has been breaking big across the northeast, playing clubs consistently in Boston, NYC and Hartford, CT. The Hartford Advocate has awarded renata as their Best Original Rock Band in 2001, and their Best Pop Band and Best Male Vocalist in 2002. Pick up an album and see for yourself.

Take the softer touch of early Counting Crows, Hootie in a chilled out mood, Dave Matthews after a hearty dose of Kava Kava and you might come close to the dreamy, sonic and altogether blissful sound of Renata. Fusing together Classic rock, roots rock, modern acoustic rock flavorings and a wee touch of country and folk, this band mesmerizes and charms. It's one of those sounds that hits you right from the first note and sweeps through you, lulling and fulfilling you to the very end. Keep your eyes on these guys.

author: AdahThis CD is absolutely amazing. Renata puts together great sounds and nice beats. It isn't soft and it isn't hard. I think this cd is one of my favorites of all the bands I listen to and I think you should check it out no matter what kind of rock music you like.
