notes
In their musical research The Red Wagons intend to look for and recall the sound and rhythms of the black R&B of the 40’s – 50’s in an explosive mixture of boogie, jumpin’ blues, rock ‘n’ roll and swing, by pursuing the ideals that animated that fabulous era.
Besides their own compositions, The Red Wagons’ repertoire borrows and re-elaborates, in an original way, songs of artists such as Louis Jordan, Ray Charles, Louis Prima, Buddy Johnson, Percy Mayfield, etc…
The band usually performs in the most important festivals and clubs in Italy, often featuring Mitch Woods, Herbie Goins and the Chicago blues singer Deitra Farr. They performed also with Junior Watson, Sugar Ray Norcia and Sax Gordon Beadle.
