Red Metric was conceived in Summer 2002 by a group of ambitious rockers from Hampton Roads disillusioned with the lack of true vision, focus and dedication now infecting much of the music community. Dedicated to writing, recording and performing professionally the world over, Red Metric has developed a solid reputation as a relentless rock band that sacrifices body and soul for the live show every night. Live performances characterized by extraordinarily high intensity and exhausting showmanship have propelled Red Metric to the brink of a national breakout. Red Metric started locally but thinks globally.
Red Metric has achieved in a short time what many bands fail to achieve during their careers. Notable career highlights include:
--Awarded the prestigious Jim Beam "B.E.A.M" Grant
--Released "Ends and Means" demo
--Runner-up awards in several "battle of the bands" competitions
--Twice nominated best local rock act by WNOR, (Norfolk VA) listeners
--Opened for national acts Metallica and Godsmack
--Released "Learning Curve" demo
--Self-sponsored national tour in 2004

Now poised to break out nationally, Red Metric draws inspiration from the pantheon of great progressive alternative rock acts like Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Incubus, Audioslave, Sevendust, Tantric, Strata, Foo Fighters etc. to create modern alternative rock music comprised of rich and dynamic instrumental layers, crunchy guitar riffs, intricate rhythms, moving transitions and provocative lyrics. In short, the band creates music that requires them to think, feel and participate and that inspires them to maximize their own musical innovation while preserving a fat groove and strong pop sensibility.
Red Metric's goal is quite simple......to create a unique musical art form that continuously challenges and redefines the arbitrary bounds of modern rock music and bring that creation to the fans with phenomenal energy and showmanship every night. Red Metric is a hard hitting rock band driven by the pursuit of perfection in their music and live performances. This is not a trivial task. But, it is one that simply must be done. For Red Metric, it is not a choice. It is a calling.

This CD rocks
author: DaBaronRarely does a band come along and catch my interest with just 1 song. Well, after hearing "Learning Curve," I was hooked! This CD came highly recommended to me and I can see why! Finding "The New World Drama" not only melodic but full of catchy riffs and GREAT lyrics, it's just a damn good listen from start to finish! Eagerly, I find myself awaiting their next offering! Also, I can hardly wait for the opportunity to see these guys rock LIVE!!!!!
