The songs on this debut CD from Reddish Knob range from the jazz-inflected ("Within Without"), to the folky ("Benny Boy" and "Boundary"), to the poignantly whimsical ("Tartan Skirt" and "Diane Sawyer"), to the power pop of "Goodnight Irene" and "The Kid". Thoughtful, meditative lyrics veer from sad to inane.
Brian Castex, the songwriter behind Reddish Knob, is a classically trained trumpet player. He began writing songs in the late 90's in New York, and moved in 2001 to Los Angeles, where he continues to write and perform.
