Red Beans & Rice, a Monterey Bay based blues band, specializes in up-tempo danceable blues. Formed in 1993, their blend of Chicago, Texas swing, Louisiana, contemporary and original music has garnered them numerous awards. Performing throughout the West Coast at various Festivals and venues, Red Beans & Rice has shared the stage with some of the greats in blues and has released four self produced albums containing their unique original compositions as well as some covers of lesser known classics.
With the release of their 2nd album, “Can’t Get Enough”, the Monterey Bay blues band further establishes their unique and fun filled sound. Says KAZU Blues Programmer Mike Eckstrom in the album’s liner notes, “These Red Beans are cookin! Grab a big spoon and dish some up. Even if you’ve had several helpings, you just “Can’t Get Enough!” There’s plenty, so share.
Red Beans & Rice has played at many major festivals throughout California. The award winning blues band has shared the stage with Koko Taylor, Los Lobos, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Charlie Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop, Little Charlie & the Nightcats and many others.
