Rebecca Stuhr studied baroque and modern flute with Kathleen Kraft of Sebastopol, California and Cynthia Stokes of St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a graduate of St. Olaf College, and the University of California, Berkeley. She performs in a variety of duos and ensembles, most recently with pianists Royce Wolf and Kris DeWild and guitarist George Torres. She also performs in a folk duo, New House, with guitarist and banjo player Mark Schneider. She has three previous recordings all released with Centaur Records (centaurrecords.com): Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Sonatas for Flute and Harpsichord, Opus 91; Benedetto Marcello, Flute Sonatas, Opus 2; and Music for Flute and Guitar (19th and 20th century French and Brazilian music for flute and guitar).

For all flute & baroque music lovers
author: D. IwabuchiRebecca Stuhr plays the baroque flute, a wooden instrument with mellow tones that are very different from the usual flute. I have her other albums on which she plays with other musicians (all of which I recommend!) but on this one, Rebecca's skill and soulful interpretation shine in all their glory. Listen to this album. Not only is it wonderful music, but in my experience it relieves stress and makes for a more pleasant and efficient work environment. ...I also highly recommend the CD Baby purchasing experience!
