notes
"Never Been To Germany" is the CD that bridges the gap between the smooth lyrical samba and the thickness of a free flowing orchestra. This CD will pull you along like the warm wind of a gentle bay.
The songs have spirit and complexity without losing the basic thread that keeps you captivated. The title piece "Never Been To Germany" is a third-stream orchestral work hinting the sounds of Eric Satie. "Lament" builds from a single theme to the thickness of a Gustav Mahler symphony. "Relevance', a canon-like piece, will hold on to you until it gives its final thought. The use of percussion drives this firely composition to the peaks of emotion.
This CD contains an interesting collection of songs. "Take It On The Arches", advise for an on-going problem in this world, spousal abuse.
"What I'll Do", the replay of life as an artist and how to cope. "Bossa Ala Mode", has already made it's name for itself as one of the underground standards. Great to see it included with these new gems.
Now to get to what really is unique about this CD, is the short symphonic poems of "Never Been To Germany". 'Lament' and 'Relevance'
What a wide variety of pleasures.
With the addition of this work, this CD will stand the test of time.
Buy this CD and enjoy.
