Raul Jaurena, is the most in demand bandoneonist in the US. He frequently performs with artists such as Paquito D'Rivera, Giora Feidman, the Frankfurt Symphony, and Pablo Ziegler. He is also featured regularly on international stages as a soloist with symphonic orchestras. This recording is the product of his successful show at the Thalia Spanish Theater (NYC) in 2005 when he invited the talented young Sinopus String Quintet from Uruguay along with pianist Octavio Brunetti and vocalist Marga Mitchell. Soundbrush Records is proud to present this stunning recording of Jaurena’s bold tango arrangements and compositions along with compositions by his Uruguayan peers Oldimar Caceres and Edelmiro D'Amario.
Raul has performed around the world including with American Composer Orchestra at Carnegie Hall (Conductor Denis Rusell Davis), Pan American Symphony Orchestra Washington DC (Conductor Sergio Bulsge),Symphony Orchestra of Oficial Radio of Vienna (Conductor Bernd Ruf), Hollywood Bowl Orchestra California (Conductor Joan Maucceri), Symphony Orchestra of Richmond Virginia (Conductor Gerardo Edelstein), Orquesta filarmonica de Montevideo Uruguay (Conductor Federico GarciaVigil), Philarmonic Orchestra of Stuttgar Germany (Conductor Bern Ruf), The Bronx Arts Ensemble Orchestra (Conductor Pablo Zinger), Orchestra Concertante de Chicago (Conductor Hilel).

author: Elmira, host of Tango Tales radio show+podcastFirst I heard Jaurena on 1995 CD Cabute of New York Tango Trio. Quejas de Bandoneon from that CD became my favorite version of this tango, IMHO, it has the best bandoneon solo of this tango. Te Amo Tango has a collection of tangos written mostly by Jaurena himself and, yes, some of them are beautifully dancable and played by the top notch musicians, such as young pianist Octavio Brunetti. Not to reduce the importance of other musicians in the group, but this CD sounds so gorgeous and rich precisely because the important tango instruments - bandoneon and piano - are played by the superb modern maestros.
Vamos jaurena!
author: Uruguay!!Aguante Jaurena carajo!!!, notable con ese bandoneón!!!, aguante el quinteto Sinopus!!! son lo más grande!!!!!
Words can not discribe how wonderful this CD is.
author: Ada BaioneMy husband introduced me to tango music when I meet him and he took me to Argentina. It so happens that my husband is a childhood friend of Mr. Juarena and I have had the pleasure of meeting him his lovely wife and daughter and he is truly a wonderful human being and a great great bandoneonist. To anyone that has not heard Te Amo Tango to buy this right away.

great!!!!!!!!!!!!he is the best!!!!!!!!!!
Tango as it should be heard.
author: Jeanne DevinI'm used to enjoying tango as a popular Latin ballroom dance, with steady and unbroken rhythms and singable melodies. When I first heard clasical tango on TV at the ice-dancing events of a Winter Olympics, the arrangements were so modern that they turned me off. But here's one CD which presents tango as both clasical and entertaining. With his accompanying orchestra and ensemble, Raul Jaurena shows how tango should be heard and enjoyed by the discriminating listener. And there's no doubt that he means it when he calls the album, "Te Amo Tango" (or in English, "I love you, tango.
Just amazing
author: Ken WolmanEver since I saw Jaurena play with Giora Feidman a few years ago, I've gone bandoneon-crazy. Raul Jaurena can make the bandoneon do anything he wants. He makes it a classical instrument, not simply a tango accompaniment (which is hardly a bad thing!).
