notes
"Music is becoming our tool...not just for aural pleasure, not just for hobby-but now as a means to connect with something beyond ourselves. It is taking its own personality, carrying us all along on the journey down the damp and strange alley ways and cryptic coded pathways... to poetic observations, social change, lyrical nonsense, political rage, symphonic coercing, ferocious bantering, bicycles and train tracks, primal will, fresh air intoxicants, harmony and alliteration, noise and something sweeter than I can ever touch. -post-apocalyptic folk fusion soul mending...perhaps?"
Scale Down, Rising Appalachia's second album, rides on the groove heavy rhythms of the drum while weaving in an array of instruments such as the banjo, fiddle, trumpet, harmonica, and plenty of piercing vocal harmonies. This album takes the Appalachian old-time heritage of sisters Leah and Chloe and thrusts it full swing into contemporary musical influences, often times with vibrant spoken word poetry and jazz riffs over an eerie banjo tune. With 6 brand new original songs, Rising Appalachia has sculpted a melodic balance between lyrical imagery, rustic instrumentation, and 'crepuscular indie-rock'.

orgasmic
author: alex livingstonIt's like a small vibration that gets stronger and stronger, until finally engulfing my entirety in a warm glow, rhytmically passing from body to soul, until everything calms and rolls down an old broken-down river pier to watch for a sunrise in America.
The best CD I have bought in a long time
author: rogerI was not familiar with Rising Appalachia until I heard them on WRAS. I bought the CD and I love it and look forward to seeing them somewhere. This is the best CD I have bought in a long time.
Such a combo of diffrent sounds
author: JebarooThis ablum really has a diffrent feel that really keeps you interested. It is a great combonation of folk, bluegrass, and poetry. All of the songs can be compared to many things that happen to ones self. Great album.

author: LTBLeah & Chloe's first CD was delightful. "Scale Down" continues and broadens the path. They are doing good works and we should encourage them. Buy their CDs.

author: eileen healyCool cd by 2 really cool chicks..theyve done it again..successfully merged their amazing musical talents with the use of splendid vocal harmonies and arrangements. The drum is also a great addition as always.1 thing though..i cant hear the lyrics very clearly and its a pity as its mostly original material and that always bugs me.We wanna hear what your singin about girls..maybe its the down south accent...
