notes
Born and raised in Macon, GA, Randy Howard was centered around and influenced by all the great sounds created from this part of Georgia. The Southern rock movement, traditional country sounds as well as the old Southern gospel overtones can be heard through out Randy's work. AS A RECORDING ARTIST, Randy has released seven albums and CD's, all of which have charted impressively in both national and international trade magazines. "Now & Then" and "Not Plugged In" on the Utopian label. "All-American Redneck" on Warner Brothers, the self-titled "Randy Howard" on Atlantic, "Macon Music" on Hitsound (Europe), the new "Randy Howard Live" and "The Best of Randy Howard" compilation.
AS A WRITER, Randy's songs have bee recorded by The Geezinslaw Brothers, Robin Lee and Hank Williams III. Hank's version of Randy's "I Don't Know" was a top forty hit in Billboard, and was #1 for five weeks on the Texas Music Chart. When Hank III sang it during his debut performance on The Grand Ole Opry, he received a standing ovation. On Hank III's newest CD "Straight To Hell", you will find Randy's "My Drinking Problem" as a featured song.
AS A PERFORMING ARTIST, Randy has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Jr, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Greg Allman and many others. He has appeared on "Nashville Now", "Entertainment Tonight" and featured on "Good Morning America" and in "USA Today". "All-American Redneck, released on Warner Brothers Records in 1983, is still considered a cult/jukebox classic. Clint Eastwood, who is responsible for signing Randy to Warner Brothers, has commissioned, and owns the rights to a movie script based on the song.

All American Redneck
author: Mike McDonaldI first heard a cassete of Randy's when I was traveling, doing millwright word. I met somebody that knew Randy and learned that I liked southern outlaw music. He lowned me a cassete of a , what he swore , was demo that Randy gave him. To make a long story short- my little girl recorded over it. Over the last couple of decades, I even forgot the artists name. It just flowed back through my brain this afternoon. On a whim I pulled it up on my computer; found this and couldn't beleive it. I never new if Randy ever even got a record deal or not but sure glad he did. I've liked his music ever since I heard that first cassete. I don't want to make him mad but he reminds me of Jerry Jeff Walker, who I a big fan of.

Badass Outlaw Country
author: Joshua Blake"The Best of Randy Howard" includes all the emotional highs and lows one could expect from a true outlaw country artist. You'll feel you're flying as high as a kite when you hear "Whiskey Talking" & "My Nose Don't Work No More", and then you'll crash into the gutter when you heart breaks while listening to "God Don't Live In Nashville TN" & "Julie I'm Getting Married", both of which just might bring a tear to a glass eye. The highlight of the CD is the opening track entitled "All American Redneck"; this live-version sing-along will have you wishing you were at your local bar kicking ass and eating "poolhall-chili". If you like true outlaw country music, I recommend you go out and shoot some Tennessee Whiskey, eat the fuzz off a Georgia peach, and buy "The Best of Randy Howard".
Good Old Fashioned Honky Tonk Music
author: ReginaFor anyone who likes the honky tonk music of the 80's (back before country music became overly stylized) this is a fun CD to listen to. One can only guess as to why "All-American Redneck" has not had a rebirth lately given all the latest attention Rednecks have garnered. Some of the ballads are a little cheesy but the CD comes through fine for the yee-haw flavor it delivers.
