notes
Since 1999, the pulsating rhythms of REGGAE have been
heard along the Jersey shore..including songs by Bob
Marley,Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown. The band ,RANDOM TEST, has
performed these and many other greats along with their
original songs.
Random Test has performed in legendary establishments
such as The Stone Pony, Tradewinds, The Fast Lane, The
Waterfront, and Joey Harrison's Surf Club. This Red Bank
based band performs regularly at Echo in Red Bank, NJ and
various establishments from New York to Delaware.
They have opened for some of reggaes greats, such as The
Wailers, Burning Spear, Culture, The wailing Souls and
Kamani Marley, to name a few.
The band's name expresses their belief that life presents
us each with many random tests. Their are many choices to
make and avenues to choose. "As I yearn, I journey through
each Random Test - Jah Wurks."
With lead singer and song writer "Danny", Donald Smith,
at the helm of the reggae sound cruise...you can't help but
feel the vibes.
His love and smooth charismatic stage presence
has fans dancing and singing long after the music has
stopped!! Danny is originally from Port Antonio, Jamaica. He
has opened for artists like Gregory Issacs, Ritchie
Stephens and Beres Hammond.
Add to that the ultra talented Devon Atherley, from
Trinidad, on keyboards and Alan McIntyre ,from Grenada,
keeping the base strong and steady ...and the magical base
for this band is set. Drums and lead guitar and the female
voice of Mari are all combined to make for one of the best
new and original Roots Rock Reggae Bands to hit the Jersey
Shore! Don't miss out experiencing the love and magic of
this great band..!!!

Thirteen tracks of awesome reggae music!
author: Joe BraunI profoundly enjoyed Random Test live and so I searched for this CD, which is one of those addictive ones that I just keep starting over and over again when it is finished. I love the musicality, the rhythm, the quality of the vocals, the music itself, and the words that have roots in the group's spiritual depths. This is a great CD.
Random Test Reggae
author: Sidai (OneVillage)Even after an evening of listening to RTR perform live ... Random Test: Roots, Rock, Reggae spins in the car all the way home... Jerzey Iz RASTA!
Don't be afraid to write about how great this cd is!
author: K. BANGERI should not be the first writing about this hot album, but not everyone has the temperment to contribute reviews. So I'll break the ice. A roots reggae band like this is a rare find in New Jersey, or anywhere for that matter. With that in mind, do yourself a favor and check out a band that just may break roots reggae in the U.S. market. It's about time. One Love.
