Ramoth-Gilead blends funk, soul, hip hop, and pop over an acoustic guitar to bring you his own unique brand of heartfelt music.

notes

Ramoth-Gilead (the really bad) [pronounced: Ray-Moth (the insect), Gil-Lee-Add (opposite of subtract)] is an East Texas native raised in a small community around his kinfolk. Like most Texans, he is proud of his heritage, and like many southerners he is proud to be country. Ramoth-Gilead was brought up listening to his father's 60's/70's selection of soul music, and his mother's favorite gospel records of the 80's. A lot of these early influences are prevalent in his own music and lyrics. At the moment, Ramoth-Gilead travels and performs independently as a solo artist in and around major cities of the United States.

  • soul at its root.

this album captures the ambience of any given performance by ramoth-gilead. his smoothly toned voice reverberates around the room, echoing off of the walls as well as each person that was present for this live / studio recording. & acting almost as antithesis, this voice is complimented by a chunk-rhythmed acoustic guitar that will have your foot stomping & your head bobbing. this is an excellent first record for such an artist, but ramoth wears too many hats to stay confined to just an acoustic guitar. here are the roots -- expect a whirlwind.

RAMOTH! sitting at the coffee cup one open mic night we all waited for the new guy to play the room crowded as we heard your strange name and you walked up so calmly and took to the stage started plucking your guitar then you opened your mouth to sing our jaws dropped as we sat and listened to an amazing voice and lyrics with such meaning. this cd is amazing unanswered calls is my favorite.the lyrics mean so much and you sing from the heart.very good. i have two cds of yours and love them both.
