notes
Ramel has found Closure, and is poised for Stardom...
Ramel Werner routinely does something he'd say most recording artists don't even have the luxury of dreaming about: He creates music entirely on his own terms.
When he goes to the studio, he's not thinking of writing a radio smash, because few radio stations play "real" music anymore. He's not thinking of a chart record, because most music charts are driven by something strange and sinister beyond mere listener appeal. No, when Ramel finishes a song, the only voice he feels obligated to listen to, is his heart. This is how he makes music.
So who is this man behind the shadows, the man, with penning lyrics of love lost and found? The man whom that's not such an easy question to answer and he likes it that way.A member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Ramel is the first of two children born in the city of Chicago, IL. His parents, being of a very diverse musical background, Ramel grew up in a house filled with all kinds of music. He cites Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, and Eric Benet as his musical inspirations.
"What I love about Luther & Eric's music, is that they could sing soft and get you to understand the same level of intensity as Teddy Pendergrass," says Ramel. He loathes talking about his personal life, so here's the skinny. He works with children with special needs, and decided to take the plunge and live the life of an artist, after completing his Master's degree in Behavioral/Learning Disabilities.
Ramel is one man not afraid to express himself about the possibility of love. If she can "penetrate my heart with romance and captivate my soul with love and respect." (As per June Ebony Magazine article: Top Bachelors of the Year, page166)
Throughout the album, Ramel centers on matters of the heart, usually not talked about openly and honestly. Closure presents more than pure romance; these songs have bite and spice. The opener, "Show Me" is an intimate confession to open ones heart, and allow love back in, while the smooth and soulful "U Put It On Me" is an unabashed declaration of eternal devotion to his future unknown mate.
The debut single "Back In The Day" is a mid-tempo, ultra-funky reflection of his childhood years, while "Stay With Me", is an equally clever story of wishful thinking, second chances. "For awhile I was afraid to trust my heart with what I wanted to say, adds Ramel. The song "Baby Without U" helped me through those times, and could be all the closure you'll need ever need".
With these tracks serving as his vibrant, moody canvas, Ramel would then lyrically paint some of the most revealing and sensitive portraits of love, relationships, and testimonials you would ever expect to hear from a quiet, introspective man like himself.
Ramel's music will intoxicate. "Closure" encourages you to stay true to your inner soul and emotional center and quote Ramel by way of The Whispers, it simply "Just Gets Better With Time."

Ramel's voice is old school smooth with a new school sound.
author: Margaret MurphyI've been acquainted with this young man for years and he told me over and over again that he could sing. What he didn't say is that he can SANG! I love the CD...the songs are perfect for Ramel's smooth sound with music that is well produced and lyrics that tell a story. Can't wait for the next one. Go 'head Ramel!
It's Awesome
author: Lynn F. Dallas, TXI had the pleasure of listening to this CD in the year of 2004 and I was thoroughly impressed. This young man has a great talent and staying power. You are right about saying you juswannasing (smile). I am truly feeling the music. Don't forget me when you blow up. I will still sing back-up for you and for free. Great job frat.
Every song on that cd is nice
author: drwax_customerI am a music fan and i will buy just about any Cd that catches my attention. Back in the summer, i was in DR WAX Music store buying cds and i heard music playing throughout the store. Immediately this man's voice caught my attention. I than asked who is this man. They told me it was Ramel but his album was not released at that moment. The man behind the counter told me that i should buy the album. Weeks later i bought his album. Its so funny the best music that we ever hear in our lives come from the people that we never hear about. I mean this guy is local and no one really knows him and it just amazes me at how talented this guy is and no one has heard of him. Every song on that cd is nice. He kind of reminds me of Eric Benet.
Worth it!!!
author: SoulBrotha#2This is a wonderful contemporary EP!!! Could've been better produced, but for the most part, it was worth the 8 bucks.
"Dust Collector"
author: Chris Van LoanDriving rhythms, hook-laden melodies and conversational lyrics that I'd like to refer to this CD as a "Dust Collector". It wont leave your CD player and just collect dust in it.
I LOVE this CD!!!
author: La'Rissa PolkI LOVE this CD!!! It was on back order when I purchased it back in October, so I would literally listen to his music via his webiste for an entire 8 hours while I was working. I wish he had more songs though.
This CD Saved My Party
author: Tamika AllenThis Closure CD is truly for grown folks. I played it during a dinner party one evening and everyone enjoyed the music. We had "Put it on Me" on repeat all night.
He Creates Dialog
author: J.S. in ATLI first heard Ramel's work on honeysoul.com I am always concerned that the artist I hear won't have more than 1 or 2 good songs on their CD. Uh-Unh! Ramel delivers from top to bottom on this EP. His attempt to create dialog w/n relationships is great. Lyrics are very on point. Your missing out RadioOne!!!
Casual , very refreshing music
author: ColynConsistent songs on the CD that recall the times of the 'nice' singers (not Al B sureish more mature and sonic)that you could put the CD ( tape ) in and let it ride. There are not too many singers that have that "let it play swager" any longer.....Looking forward to more Music

i absolutely love this cd ...ramel is a great artist he has smooth melodic voice that reminds you of the crooners of the old days...Donnie, Marvin, Smokie.... I also love the writing and the tracks on this cd...my favorite is Show Me..because of the beautiful music and background vocal arrangements...alot of songs arent saying much these days...but CLOSURE speaks volumes!
It is good, honest soul
author: Eric van den Bosch, NetherlandsI enjoy listening to the CD. It is lighthearted, yet rough, "uptempo," and delightful. It has a lot of riffs, subtleties, melodies and sophisticated explorations of sound. It is good, honest soul.
Fantastic Job!
author: www.GreatIndieMusic.comRamel's 1st project "Closure" is what Indie music is all about. I noticed a difference in production on the overall CD, but he did a fantastic job, putting it all together.
Ramel giving you emotions!
author: KeithKNOWSRamel, thanks for being true to you. Great vocals, lyrics from the heart! You are on your way to stardom! Much Success.
Couldn't Stop Bobbing
author: Refreshing and CoolI heard the first track "Back in the Day" on XM satelite's Flow channel and I couldn't stop bobbing my head. It has a funky feel to it. If you appreciate good, nice base grooved music with some wicked snaps..you will not be dissapointed.
Refreshingly Different
author: Marilyn Taylor, UKI first found this CD through this site, just browsing around because I was bored. Ramel is very simiular to Eric Benet, but refreshingly different. Closure is a great album, my fave song on it is "Baby Without You" and I love the hidden track at the end.
quality soul
author: cubogreat vocals must have cd put it on me fantastic
the REAL deal
author: Staci GardnerThis cd could be released today and do very well. Unlike other CD's, this has a number of potential singles. The lyrics are genuine and heart felt. Ramel is a true vocalist. No protools needed!!! If you are into the real deal then you definitely need this cd.
a decent CD
author: Jennifer R.this was a decent CD. I discoverd it when a friend of mine from chicago had it on in the background while we were talkin. I asked who she was listening to, & she said "this guy named "Ramel" & the rest was history. I bought the record online and damn I was impressed!! smooth vocals, strong song writing, & tight production. I suggest to anybody in listening range cop this record and take a musical journey. It will be worth it!
A must have!
author: Sven LewisAlas! music that soothes and feeds the soul. Closure supercedes genre, no lover of music could deny it's authenticity. In an era of cookie cutter artists and artificial music, Closure will be a welcomed surprise! The vocals and music are equally enjoyable. This is undeniably a MUST HAVE!
You have an awesome voice
author: Meca JohnsonThe CD is hot & should be on the charts right now!
Good Soulful Musiq
author: Thomas HillThis cd is a refreshing reminder that there is still really good musiq out there, you just have to find it. I was actually turned on to this cd by a friend. I'm glad she put me on because I've been listening to it ever since it arrived, beginning to end. It's not often you get a cd that you can listen to without skipping through the songs. If you like good musiq, buy this cd from CD BABY. I will definitely look for more musiq from Ramel.
Real R&B!!!
author: JennIf you dig cool mid tempo grooves like "Back in the Day" and chordy, beautiful balladry like "Show Me", Closure is for you. Strong vocals and impassioned music tracks. Real R&B!!!

Bringing Heart back to music
author: CollageI was able to hear Ramel a few years before the official Closure release. He blessed me then and still touches and moves audiences to date. This EP is a must have for any music enthusiast. Your collection is incomplete without it. It's a combination of warm vanilla, fig, brown sugar and honey. The sounds are sweet, soulful and authentic. And so are the heart & spirit of this very in-touch crooner. Bless your life and this man. Get your copy today! Ramel, thanx for sharing your gift. Peace & Poetry, Collage
