notes

Rick & the Ramblers' Western Swing Band musical menu consists of a hearty serving of high energy, danceable western swing and Vermont-grown original music.

The band is seven members strong, each player an excellent musician in his or her own right. Together Rick & the Ramblers deliver an exceptional musical experience...one that has attracted the attention of a wide range of audiences throughout the region. On the album you'll hear western swing classics from Bob Wills, Merle Haggard and Asleep at the Wheel with a special emphasis on the songs of Strafford, Vermont native and founding member of Asleep at the Wheel, LeRoy Preston ("I Heard the Highway," "Bump Bounce Boogie")

Rick & the Ramblers travel the region in an attention-grabbing, full-sized 1957 Flxible Starliner tour bus restored in the style of the ealry western swing legends like Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. They are Leo Roy on vocals and lead guitar, Shauna Antoniuc on vocals, Jim Pitman on pedal steel, Chris Peterman on saxophone, Tom Buckley on vocals and bass, Roy Cutler on drums, vocals and rhythm guitar, and of course Rick Norcross on vocals and rhythm guitar.

Rick celebrates 40 years in the music business "unencumbered by the trappings of commercial success." He spent 17 years performing as a solo singer/ songwriter, toured England for 10 years, working the southeast out of Tampa before returning home to play Vermont summers/Florida winters. He and Leo formed The Bottom Dollar Band in 1978 and the friendship and musical bond blossomed into the current western swing sound of the Ramblers.

Rick is listed in the International Who's Who in Popular Music! He is president of Airflyte Productions. He also founded the Vermont Food Fest: The Green Mountain Chew Chew 18 years ago.
