Raimonds Pauls first classical works ever! He's always been pop composer and piano player and this is his first experiments in classical music. Wery well done. All works writen by Raimonds Pauls and recorded in Latvian State radio Studio 1.
Born on January in Riga, Latvia. In 1958 graduated from the Latvian State Conservatoire. From 1964-1971 conducted Latvian State Philharmonic's pop music orchestra, and was the pianist, too. From 1972-1988 conducted professional vocal - instrumental music groups - MODO, REMIX. He has been editor-in-chief of the Latvian Radio music program editorial board and the main director of different Radio musical groups, and conducted the Jazz orchestra of Latvian Radio. 1988-1993 Raimonds Pauls was Latvian State Minister of Culture. From 1993 he was counsellor of the President of Latvia. At present he is a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia.
Laureate of several awards of the pop-music festivities in Sopot (Poland) and Bratislava (Bratislavas Lira),(Slovakia). Founder and organiser of the following Latvian annual pop-music festivities: "Jurmala", Children's Music Festivity "Calis", Annual Schlager Festivival during the Summer Solstice (National Holiday in Latvia) as well as Great Latvian Music Award ceremony.
Musical works :
5 TV shows (1972-1975), 7 musicales (a special popularity was gained by Sister Carry (1978), Join the Guys (1982) Wild Swans (1995) and "Legend about Green Lady (2000) ), music for 3 ballets and more than 50 movies and theatre performances. He has gained love of his fans with his more than 600 melodic pop-songs, including also about 150 songs for children. His songs performed by all famous Russian and Latvian artists such as - Alla Pugatchova, Valery Leontjev, Laima Vaikule, Igo, etc.
