notes

The Radishes are a San Francisco/Los Angeles based band with a sound that has been described as Nirvana meets Motorhead. Other influences include such high-energy units as The White Stripes, The Stooges, Ministry, The Hives, Scratch Acid, and NIN, with hooky, angular guitar lines, ferocious vocals, and a unique, darkly ironic approach to songwriting.

Most recently The Radishes have teamed up with legendary underground bassist Paul Barker (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, USSA), iconic indie drummer Rey Washam (Steve Albini, Scratch Acid, Ministry) and guitarist Wayne Kramer of seminal proto-punk Detroit rockers the MC5 on the new EP Strychnine, set for release on 4/15/08.

Wayne Kramer's blistering guitar lines on the Lennon cover 'I Found Out' have fans declaring The Radishes' version as superior to the original even though it was recorded live on the first take. The almost eight minute track has the cacophony of Sonic Youth and the sludge of The Melvins while retaining the raw emotion of early solo Lennon. It has also become a favorite at live shows.
