The Platonica Files is Rachel’s first full length effort… her debut self-titled e.p. had most of the songs licensed to Film and TV -"My Dog and Me" was used by Milk Bone and will be in the end credits of upcoming indie film Heavy Petting and "Major Brown" and "The Other Side of Sky" will be featured in upcoming indie film Cosmic Radio. “Miracle” was in the film “Elvis has left the Building.” She wrote and recorded a feel-good pop song called "Rescue Me" that is the end credits song in My Super Ex Girlfriend and can be found on that soundtrack.
Rachel recorded The Platonica Files without really knowing she was making a record… they are songs that were recorded in the moment, on her limited equipment, intimate and raw… the collection of songs became a car favorite of several friends and so she decided to release it, practically as-is, with some love from mixer brian scheuble.
It’s a love letter and a goodbye letter to a string of beautiful boys, and to her hometown of Los Angeles itself, as Rachel has just relocated to her beloved Portland Oregon, where she will continue to write and play.
