notes
Eileen Quinn - sailor, songwriter and former mermaid - has spent the past five years cruising the eastern seaboard and circling the Caribbean.
Eileen's original songs describe, with humor and insight, the ups and downs of bluewater cruising.
With the release of Degrees Of Deviation, her second recording, Quinn has firmly established herself as the creator of a new musical genre, affectionately dubbed as "bluewater".
"That's what influences me most, and I can't think of a better way to describe the rhythms and melodies that result," she says.
Order your own copy of Degrees Of Deviation to experience how "Quinn writes and sings songs about sailing that, often in the same verse, bring tears and laughter to her audiences" and why she "now has a place of honor on the shelves of almost every cruiser who has heard her perform, right next to Jimmy Buffett." (quotes from BOAT/U.S. Magazine)

Singing to our souls..
author: Robert/Mary KansaEileen, We might only be be weekend racers and cruisers, but your music came from your heart into ours.. Thank you.
Perfect cruising CD
author: Mike S/V AmbianceEileen's lyrics really hit home, the good and the bad, and why we love sailing. I heard Eileen sing in the Bahamas, and now whenever I listen to her CD I want to quit my job, sell my house in New England, move on to my boat and live the life she sings about.
This CD cut straight to my heart as a female cruiser!!!! WOW!!!!
author: Joanne Wilson - Opus IVThe first time I heard this CD, I almost started crying. Eileen Quinn is able to put my life as a cruiser into words and song... It is my life and the lives of my fellow cruisers and it is FANTASTIC! We are Canadians currently cruising in Savusavu, Fiji and are thrilled to have discovered this amazing artist!
Absolutely Wonderful! Takes you sailing from the start.
author: Mark RavanDegrees of Deviation is a wonderful CD about the sailing the sea, and the things that keep us coming back for more. It is a musical journey into the fun, the pain, and the journey of our hearts for the sea.
Great Music and Lyrics
author: Ilene SaportaI was looking for music to accompany a slide show for our Junior Sailing Program. Many of the pictures involved our kids at different regattas. I could not have asked for a more perfect song than "Gotta Regatta!" Thank you!
Fantastic! Songs for the sailors soul!
author: James in AlaskaFantastic musical stories of what sailing is all about. The good, the bad, and the ugly. And most importantly, why we keep sailing. I highly reccomend this and all of Eileen's music to anyone who loves to cruise.
Too kewl for too many words
author: Peter in McAllenA small time sailor myself, I have found much to appreciate in Ms Quinn's music. The songs on this CD are so true to life and tell the great story of the crusing life. The perfect music for the perfect life.
Parrot Heads love this music, too.
author: Joe CarlThe only sea-associated thing Eileen doesn't sing about is stepping on a pop-top. And her upbeat message beats unrequited love any day. I heard Eileen at the Annapolis Sailboat Show and was hooked. As this captain ages, the appeal of "Grandma and Grandpa Went to Sea" was especially poignant.
Best Cruising CDs Ever - A Must!
author: Roger And Susie MummahEileen's lyrics are very cleaver and very meaningful to cruising folk. Sometimes funny. Sometimes tear jerkers! We are listening to her now and they make us want to untie and head out again. Roger and Susie Mummah s/v Endless Summer
These songs are wonderful!
author: Kathy ParsonsThis is another great CD by Eileen Quinn. The lyrics are clever, insightful, funny. The arrangements are super - bluesy, folksy, a little bit of everything. I first heard Eileen perform in Honduras at the Bay Islands sailing regatta (surely the inspiration for the song “Gotta Regatta”!) If you like to sail and travel, you will definitely feel that Eileen is writing your songs. I highly recommend this CD. And if you ever get a chance to hear her perform, don’t pass it up!
You'll never forget her 'bluewater' music
author: Canadian YachtingWhether it's a stormy passage, a terrible anchorage or a beautiful sunset, all boaters can reflect on a similar situation in her songs.
