An intro to Qui, from guitarist/singer Matt Cronk...
We, Qui, are Paul Christensen and me, Matt Cronk. We met at a fancy-pants art school in Minneapolis, MN where we were treated as though we were very special creative people. Paul studied old rich people's wedding music (jazz) and I made wise cracks and occasionally operated a guitar. After graduating from said art school, Paul dicked around at a couple other music schools while I played in inconsequential punk bands and worked shitty jobs. During this period, Paul once gave ham to an unsuspecting family eating at Applebees. Giving ham is like mooning someone but spreading the ass cheeks really wide so they get a good look.
Anyway, after a whole bunch of stuff happened we moved to Los Angeles, CA to become movie stars. Upon realizing the difficulty of our aspirations, we decided to start a band. We tried playing with a number of other people but their lack of competence and/or busy schedules were a hinderence to our progress so we gave up on bass players and the like. Once settling on our two-piece line up, we quickly wrote enough material to record a demo and began playing shows here in LA. Since then we have played for indifferent to hostile audiences with the occasional positive response from friends and weird loner types. Once we opened up for pop-punk superstars, the Ataris, for two nights in San Diego. Needless to say, the teenaged mall-punk kids were not into our slow, dissonant instrumentals and such. I caught a golf ball in the head. Since then, we have been booked into several venues in LA including the Smell, the Fold, and the Scene. We have also played in support of Pretty Girls Make Graves at the Troubadour and Har Mar Superstar at Spaceland.
In April of 2003, we will be releasing our first full-length album on Heart of a Champion. It is called Baby Kisses. I think thats it.
UPDATE!
In late 2006, Qui officially added a new member. David Yow,legendary vocalist for The Jesus Lizard and Scratch Acid, is now a full-time member of Qui! Of course, he does not appear on this CD, but keep an eye out for future recordings!

ham?
author: Jose FritzGiving ham? We always called that a Fruit salad. Which is kind of wussy for a carnivorous rock band. you rock.
Creaming
author: DollfaceThese guys are the future of music- It is more than music, it is an experience. I've met them both, and they are the friendlist a-holes you'll ever meet. The sex appeal is there, and thank god, so are the brains. I wish them well, and I hope they continue to experiment until they make us all cum.
Baby Kisses, soft title, intense sound
author: The Zombie SocialiteThis is a great disc for those who love some really hard Emo. This 2 peice band just rocks my world, just a gituar and some drums, every note in clear detail. Hard, fast and very moving!
