Awesome power pop trio. The energy is contagious, and I found myself lifted immediately. Now I play it to give me a lift when I need. What a Buzz!
Greatness
author: George F HoldenSome have greatness thrust upon them, others, like the psychodots, are just born great. although the Bears are good and I do like them, these guys don't need Belew to be awesome. I wish they would record more.
Love it!
author: BethJust saw my second Thanksgiving eve concert in Dayton...which prompted me to buy this CD. It does not disappoint. Love them!
These guys are brilliant!!
author: Ted from the BeachlandThis CD is fantastic, all the Psychodots CD's are fantastic. If you're not hip to this band, you should be. Get everything by them... get everything by The Bears...and get all their solo stuff (I especially like Rob Fetters' solo CD's...genius)
Now they've gone and done it.
author: Paul From JerseyAbout my only complaint about these guys is that they don't record nearly often enough (and it would be nice if they'd play a bit closer to my neck of the woods). Some of the tunes on here appeared on the live CD of a few years back, and some is, I'm guessing, somewhat newer material. While it's not as good as the self-titled debut, or their last studio outing, not much is. As an added aside, anyone who thinks of the Bears as an Adrian Belew side project should buy this album to get a handle on how much the other 3/4 contribute. Buy the album, then tell your friends to buy the album, and their friends too... maybe then they'll record a bit more often!
another brilliant album
author: Adrian Crimminanother brilliant album from the dots they just keep getting better
These guys were my INSPIRATION! Thanks Guy's
author: Big Rob FraleyI have followed these guys since I was 18. I love every minute of my new found gems on the internet. I will forever appreciate the music of my original Raisens. Keep it up.
DAMMIT I LOVE THIS BAND
author: FunkBoneLive is always better but they're so far away! Buy this disc!
Another gem...
author: MiloThe boys keep doing it after all these years. I love the smooth Rob/Chris harmonies, Bob's sarcastic love lost lyrics, Chris' impeccable diction, and Rob's fancy noodling. If you like this, check out the latest solo records by Rob and Chris!
Power pop at it's best!
author: John RigneyThe Bears minus Adrian belew equals another great record from the Psychodots. This is the type of music that SHOULD get serious airplay, but will inevitably be heard only by fans who already know them. "Disposable Man" is the best power pop song since Cheap Trick's "Surrender".
Simply Fantastic!
author: RyanGreat songwriting, music, and lyrics. These guys play what they want, when they want, and don't worry about being on MTV. The songs on this cd range from slow pop to all out butt rock! Rob's great guitar and voice, Chris's (Deathy) pop drums and voice, Bob's always excellent bass lines, and EVERYONE's great songs make a cd that can be enjoyed time and time again. Thanks guys!!!
You'll shiver, you'll shake, you'll like!
author: Ken OwenIf you enjoy smart, concise, melodic, extremely well-played, at times sarcastic/ascerbic pop/rock music-- you've come to the right place. These guys are *sensational* -- even better live than they are on disc, and this is one fine CD. Snap it up and tell your friends!
Great
author: tom elliouttAwesome music performed well. It just doesn't get any better than the Phsycodots!!
This is Great!
author: BrianThis is an excellent CD. The musicianship is great and the songwriting is wonderful. This is what pop SHOULD be! I HIGHLY recommend this CD!
Another winner from The Dots!
author: cemegoOkay, i'm going to not sound like a dots junky here even though I am... I like the first album and awkwardsville better, but this is better than "on the grid". My favorite track is "not a pretty face". it just seemed to stick immediately. the others grow on you REALLY FAST. It's nice to hear chris arduser as well. He's a little buried in The Bears. This is a great way to hear him if not on his solo stuff.
