Album Notes

This CD is a celebration of Psychatrone Rhonedakk's 10 years of self-releasing sounds! This starts and ends with one new song,...and in between there is a selection of Mr. Rhonedakk's early creations. Originally these were released on Cassettes and CD-R's in micro quantities in the late 1990's(although the recording dates go back as far as 1986!). This was just before Psychatrone released his first pressed CD,"Keep On Psychedelic Mind"(also available at CD Baby). In his early days he was influenced by sci-fi soundtracks (Dr. Who,& Forbidden Planet, for example) and also early electronic innovators like Brian Eno, Tonto's Expanding Headband, Ashra Temple, and early 1970's Tangerine Dream. Here those influences and the discovery of "looping" through Terry Riley's and The Tall Dwarfs' music freed him to make his own sounds. Along the way Japan's more "open minded" psychaedelic scene influenced things too. But on the bulk of this release things are more electronic in a raw ,experimental sense, making the title "American Primitive Electronics" the perfect clue to the sounds carried on this disc. Many of these tracks are remixed from the original multi-tracks and a handful are never before released too! The unreleased cuts were newly mixed as they were found during the master tape searches in 2007. This disc starts off with "The Cult of The Violet Ray" an out-take from the critically acclaimed "Disturbs The Air" CD,and ends with Mr. Rhonedakk's new, personal take on Lou Reed's "I'm Set Free" recorded in 2007. The whole set was also professionally mastered for the first time ,making this the best sounding collection of Psychatrone Rhonedakk's early tracks ever released. Finally these pieces have been distilled to their essence and are now available in a proper release of 500 copies. This is a full serving of classic sounding electronic pieces from the personal archives of Psychatrone Rhonedakk! >>>Reviews.... **Aural Innovations May 2009...said,The 14 minute long Tangerine Nightmare "...is surely the highlight of the album for me,an extended trip into dark, psychedelic realms featurine both Psychatrone's freaked out electronics and the guitar work of Brian Langan of the Swims." They finish by saying,"What always strikes me about Psychatrone Rhonedakk's music is no matter how experimental and eccentric it gets,it always remains highly listenable, and the early recordings on American Primitive Electronics are no exception. This album is a joy to listen to,from it's oddball start to it's subtly uplifting finish." The WIRE UK wrote that "Psychatrone is very much in the tradition of private press luminaries like Simones and St. Mikeal", and went on to say one electronic piece was, "particularly deranged, with tumbling electronics and high frquency flashes...". Siltbreeze wrote on their "Siltblog" that his music at times, "...sounded like it could be some bizarre genius on the Limelight or Mainstream label." Byron Coley wrote in his Bull Tongue column in ARTHUR magazine(#29) that the electronic side of Psychatrone's sold-out QBICO record was a ,"..Zolar gloop of electro whizz." Aural Innovations (on-line zine)in the past had said that ,"Psychatrone's early works are eerily reminiscent of..." the ,"...early halcyon days of electronic music." Dream Magazine said Mr. Rhonedakk's music had, "...layers of spectral sound, howling feedback, and an adventurously stoned spirit." Kawabata Makoto(of the Acid Mothers Temple)wrote on their BBS that "American Primitive Electronics ....is very good electronics album(i love the sleeve too!)" **Terrascope Reviews (for January 2009)wrote that,"...the whole package" is "a celebration of the haunting electronic sounds that are almost unique to the artist." They also wrote that ,"...'Inner Piece 1&2' re-organises our molecules,a warm drift across a forgotten planet that is a glorious ride." They went on to say that ,"SPACE ,a nineteen minute tour-de-force split into sec
