Pamela Sue Mann, who has been called "a new Diva in the making" by MTV Online and hailed by critics for her brand of melodious and haunting "ethereal pop," is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist , and producer living in New York City. Originally from Milford, Massachusetts, Pamela headed directly to the Big Apple after graduating from Berklee College of Music with a vocal/piano Professional Music degree.
Blending elements of pop, folk, and electronica on her debut album, pamelasuemann (self-released), she has been likened to artists as diverse as Kate Bush, Natalie Merchant, and the Cocteau Twins. Pamela's first release was produced by Gerry Leonard, aka Spooky Ghost, who also works with David Bowie, Suzanne Vega and Laurie Anderson, among others; mixed by Kevin Killen, whose credits include Elvis Costello, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and U2; and mastered by Grammy award winner Marc Wilder. The highly touted and sought after musicians who play on this recording include: drummer Jay Bellerose (Elton John, Beck, T Bone Burnette), guitarist Gerry Leonard, drummer Matt Johnson (Beth Orton, Ricki Lee Jones, Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright), drummer Tim Newton (Duncan Sheik), bassist Paul Bryan (Aimee Mann), and bassist Byron Isaacs (Joan Baez, Elysian Fields).
Currently working on her second solo album, Pamela also appears singing backup vocals and harmonies on Suzanne Vega's recently released album, "Songs in Red and Gray" (A&M). Suzanne Vega's most recent release, "Retrospect", features her
single "Maggie May" from "Songs in Red and Gray" which Pamela sang back up vocals on.
In May of 2003 Pamela sang with Spooky Ghost on tour as the opening act for Suzanne Vega.
In early spring of 2002, Pamela toured with Suzanne Vega throughout Europe and in New York City, singing supporting vocals, and performed in Vega's upcoming video of "Last Year's Troubles." Pamela's breathy vocals also grace the new Gerry Leonard (Spooky Ghost) record, "The Light Machine" (self-released). Her song, "I Quit" is featured in the film Story of a Bad Boy, produced by Jean Doumanian (known for producing many Woody Allen).
When not performing live across the United States and abroad, solo and with her band, and as a backup vocalist with Spooky Ghost and other artists, Pamela co-produces and writes for several projects. She has written three albums with Gina Fant-Saez of Blue World Music: Rumacea (currently available www.blueworldmusic.com), Broadband, and Roomi. Pamela and Gina have also co-written several songs for Blue World Music and various artists. In addition, she is currently co-producing and writing "Cosmic Kin" (Cosmic Kin Music) with Byron Isaacs, Jimmy Zhivago, Pete Keppler, Fiona Kernaghan, and the Cosmic Kin collective.
Pamela is also writing and co-producing "b o x"(Cosmic Kin Music), a collaboration with electronica artist j9 engineered by Mario McNulty of Looking Glass Studios in New York City.
"Revenant"(Cosmic Kin Music), a conceptual collaboration with international writers, singers, and actors, which is set to the music of film composer David Carbonara, conceptualized and produced by Pamela Sue Mann, is also currently in production.
"Feeling Fiona" (the songs of Fiona Kernaghan),a 2005 Red Rebel Music (Australia) release features
"Hello Earthboy" performed by Pamela Sue Mann (produced by Mark Plati)
Earlier in her career, Pamela toured the US and Europe with Arista recording Artist and Viva TV's #1 Pop Act of 1995, The Real McCoy, making many television appearances including: MTV's The Grind, Greatwoods Live TV, Viva TV Awards, Pop Komm, and Universal Studio's Latin Nights.

Not to miss!
author: Jase LuttrellThis is one CD not to be missed. I can't imagine living without it. Though it is short (only eight songs), it is one of the most captivating albums I've heard in years. Though "Place I Call Home" doesn't quite fit in because of its large acoustic guitar work, the rest of the album flows together seamlessly. The songs seem very innocent and heartwarming the first listen, but then the darkness comes through when the lyrics are connected. The way Pamela Sue Mann writes, records, and performs everything shows strength and passion, and this woman knows how to use her charming whispery voice. After listening to this CD, the only question I have is "where is this artist now, and why has she not released any new recordings?" She is the kind of artist people long to hear more of. I just hope we aren't left longing for too much time.
pam's music is full of sweet hooks
author: Amy EmermanThis music is addictive with its sweet hooks that make you want to keep listening. Pam's vocals are sweet and the music is like drinking a cappucino with whip cream and delicious steamed milk...it's very alluring and very delicious to the ears...a 'guilty' pleasure for sure :0)
PSM's platter is worth checking out!
author: Waterfrontweek (williamsburgh, Ny)2/7/02There've been few singer/songwriters who aimed for a cross-pollination of folk-styled/bare bones confessional song and that Little Genre That Almost Could, Electronica.Beth Orton and Laika from the UK are some who've made interesting and heartfelt music combining the two in their own unique manner(s)- now add Pamela Sue Mann to that short list. She sings in a melodious, breathy woman-child voice that brings to mind corrupted innocence and wary melancholy. Mann's songs are straightforward and uncomplicated yet avoid sounding like a million other Earnest Ladies W/ Guitars because of the judicious use of electronics, loops, etc. that color the songs, adding to their expressiveness, without overwhelming them or coming off as "sweetening." Further, she keeps the Earnest Factor under control- she doesn't sound like she's trying to exorcise ALL her Inner Demons on this one album or "impress" the listener with the depths of her emotions. Her songs are what they are, made vibrant with the right mix of confidence & moderation.PSM's platter is worth checking out!
Making Waves
author: Lystra JosephThis is by far an artist who has it going on... Her music really appeals to the senses...makes you reflect, unwind, or just puts you in the comfort zone. You go girl!
A very good beginning!
author: Kupajo Janda Of Zomba Recording Corp. This is by far the best album of it's genre that I've heard this year. Songs like Guilty, Breath and A Letter have a way of hitting the listener right in the heart. The way Pamela waivers potent lyrics with a very sultry vocal style makes this album a definite winner.
An artist who "has it"
author: David RandallFor those of you who are looking to treat your ears and musical taste buds, this CD is a much welcomed addition to your listening. Think in terms of silk, satin and velvet. Think in terms of eavesdropping in on a journey of poetic self-expression. Think in terms of not only the initial listening, but nuances discovered and uncovered in subsequent listenings. Co-musicians & co-industry people similar to myself have been introduced to Pamela through this project. The verdict is that this is a singer/songwriter to pay attention to. When all the individual conversations around the table abruptly stop or when the replay button on the cd machine is pushed to again hear a passage--all signs point to the "buzz" that some have and some do not. Simply put...Pamela Sue Mann has it!

Calling this album ambient is somewhat of a mis-nomer. That being said, the only thing bad about this album is that it's way too short, clocking in at about 35 minutes. The music sounds more like a tamed down Alanis Morrisette with a bit of Cocteau Twins thrown in which is probably where the ambient reference comes from. The shortness of the album leaves me wanting more so I guess it really can't be a bad thing. Nice pop melodies complete with the trademark Alanis warbly guitar and electric piano sounds. Vocals are deep, rich, and right in your face while the singing is beautiful, soulful, and highly appealing. Very nice.
