DON PRESTON, mostly known for his 9 year stint with Frank Zappa also performed and recorded with John Lennon, Gil Evans, Carla Bley, Meredith Monk, The Los Angeles Philharmonic and The London Philharmonic. Preston also scored the music for over 20 films including Apocalypse Now. Preston has toured with his group The Akashic Ensemble on both coasts and in Europe. He also lectured in the states and Europe. He has performed with Amy Knoles, Art Jarvinen and Brad Dutz.Preston's music has been performed by The On Group, The California Ear Unit, The Hamburg String Orchestra, The String Quartet Of Invention and a multitude of others.
Preston recently toured the East Coast with his Akashic Ensemble and lectured at The Berkley School Of Music, Boston.
This CD was done with acoustic instruments and electronic instruments such as a full modular Moog, some Buchla gear an EMS and other oddities in the studio.

Great creativity and production, Preston is a master!
author: ChrisWaDon's CD reflects his imagination and his talent. All of the compositions reflect his years of work and tremendous ability to create beautiful music. Although this cd isn't one you can hum all day, it's perfect for a dim, warm room with a comfortable chair, you'll leave the room changed. Thanks Don !
