POUMI has a singing body and a dancing voice.
Daughter of an opera singer, she has traveled throughout Asia, establishing a bridge between two cultures.
Her entire life has been dedicated to music, dance and teaching all of which has been steeped in the breadth and atmosphere of Asian philosophy.
POUMI'S career has included extensive work as a choreographer in Paris, France & New York, USA and all over India, Africa, Europe...
She studied Indian Sitar with NARENDRA BATAJI and Indian singing especially with KAKOLI and learned the technique of LILLY LEHMANN with LOUIS BOUBIER.
In 1977 she began a series of fourteen journeys to India.
At the "Temple of Thousand Buddhas" in France, she came across Tibetan Tantric Buddhism with KALU RINPOCHE in 1982. There she met in 1991 DRUKCHEN RINPOCHE who moves and inspires her deeply.
On the same path, she had previously encountered BALAYOGI, realised Buddha of India.
Poumi had strong experiences with Sufi masters by practising zikr (like mantras) which leads into a very ecstatic state.

Salvation Through Your Ears
author: Allyson BuckleyAstounding vocalizations by this woman! I am in awe and humbled by her command of the songs and also of the spirituality she exudes with each song. The musical arrangements on this CD are also exquisite. I recommend this CD to anyone looking to add to their spiritual enlightenment and or musical enlightenment. Namaste!
Most compelling Mantra-CD I've ever listened to

We have never experienced, heard and felt the OM Namaha Shivaya Mantra in the West so strongly. SHIVA touches our innermost part. HE lights our dark sides. HE opens us by POUMI. We are ready for the transformation. OM Namah Shivaya is the Opener in the true sense of the word and in intensity never heard before. In the Native American tradition of the Hayoka, POUMI sings this strong Shiva Mantra also backwards: Shivaya Namaha OM - this results in a Synchronisation of the two brain halves. MAGNIFICENT! POUMI is a gifted dancer and a choreographer. This finds his way in the way it reports the Mantren. You can feel her noticeable dedication in every chant, in combination with her rousing speed where applicable, POUMI drives us virtually euphoric. The CHANTS dance around us and into us.
