notes
Peter Polzak and Bill Harrison have been playing music together for well over twenty years. They have developed a level of mutual understanding that goes far beyond "listening" and being able to anticipate one another's musical moves. It is a kind of simpatico that simply must be heard to be appreciated. This CD is a mix of standards, jazz tunes and one original. Recorded in two short sessions, the disc is mainly first takes, no edits or fixes of any kind. Relax and enjoy!

Beautiful music making
author: Jerry SpinhirneI have hundreds of CDs, but there are only about a half dozen that I listen to regularly - Segovia, Billie Holiday, Glenn Gould, Chet Baker, Barenboim's tango recording - and Mood Swings. It's right up there for me.
Wonderful
author: Nina ShengoldThe key word here is "duet." These guys really listen and work with each other, and Harrison's bass is a full partner in the dance. Deceptively simple music that deepens with every spin.
Gorgeous music
author: FrankThis is an incredibly beautiful CD. The performances of the artists are superb. I wish there was more music like this being recorded. Support great art like this by buying the CD.
Fantastic - beautiful and moving!
author: JFosterThis is a beautiful, moving work by these incredible musicians. I've been listening to it on "Loop" mode in my car for two weeks now - I never grow tired of it.
Simply Beautiful
author: Edo Castro Bassist and ComposerThere's a certain mystical eloquence in simplicity. I first experienced this when I heard records by Pianist Bill Evans. It's as if time had stopped when he played. There's was magic in the spaces where the notes were allowed to occupy and blossom. Often times, it was what he didn't play that gave breath to the musical conversation. It is not musical restraint that causes this eloquence to appear but compete surrender to allow the music speak for itself. Bill Harrison and Peter Polzak have created that conversational space in this recording. Gorgeous blossoming notes and interplay that is not esoteric but all inclusive drawing the listener in on their moment to moment melodic discussion. Intently their music speaks to you without demanding your attention, but gently caressing your senses. Simply beautiful.
