notes
With infectious charm, the Polyjesters offer the safest bet today in the category of "someone you've never heard of".
The Polyjesters are hip in a way that transcends generations. Purveyors of "swingin' folk chunk" they are skilled and generous entertainers who eagerly share their love of music with anyone they meet. The reason for this is simple: they really do love people and music. Peers, grown-ups, freedom 55ers, teens, tweens or kids be they suburbanite, socialite or country folk, people across Canada and around the world instantly fall in love with the Polyjesters.
The Polyjesters have received praise from every client and event they have performed for throughout the world including The Monaco Grand Prix and Disneyworld. Booking fifty-four shows in just two showcases (2002 AATA Showcase and 2003 Saskatchewan Showcase), brothers Jason (Bass/Vox) and Sheldon Valleau (Baritone Ukulele/Vox) are the heart of the Polyjesters. The boys grew up in a loving family where their father was the school band teacher. Music truly is in their blood with combined music experience totaling over 50 years!
Now a quartet, which includes Scott Duncan on fiddle and Rob Vulic on percussion, The Polyjesters were "born" on the streets of Nice, France while Jason and Sheldon were traveling together. As a way to earn "adventure" money, the boys hit the streets with an upright bass and two voices. As Jason played the bass, Sheldon sat beside it and played it as a drum. To this day, the boys offer the only one-instrument bass, drum and vocal experience in the world. This remains one of the strongest portions of their show.
Music is their enjoyment. Music is their adventure. They are ambassadors for music anywhere in the world and they're great to work with. There aren't too many things in this world that you can be absolutely sure of but the Polyjesters can be one of them.

author: Matt ClemenI listened to several of the songs on CD Baby and decided to toss the CD in my cart. I popped into the CD player in my car and have been hooked ever since. I feel the need to purchase several copies for friends. If the Polyjesters read these reviews, come on down to Chicago and play a set at the Hideout. The owner has a soft spot for Canadians.
the best feelgood cd i have ever heard superb

Modeled after the acoustic, swing jazz of Django Reinhardt and his incalculable influence across continents, the Polyjesters have since stirred in the spunk and spark of their easy going, playful temperaments, the wide appeal of modern folk, and the light, shuffley, feel-good buoyancy of alt. country and bluegrass to concoct a thoroughly warming, tingling collection, reminiscent of hot whiskey spreading from mouth to backbone. With an brief jaunt into hip-hop-meets-acoustic-pop, they haven't forgotten to throw in a wild card here and there along their way to capturing a bundle of creative innovation within a cherished and well-polished genre. Light on its feet, this album could most definitely be used as a natural mood-enhancer.

Super smooth, easy grooving Django Lite
author: Mike SweeneyThis is a great record to listen to in its entirety. Front to back, it's totally enjoyable and still mildly cereberal without being draining. In addition, it is full to the brim with well executed proper musicianship.
