Album Notes

. I think you will love this one....it has Blues, Ballads, Bebop, Brazilian Bossas and Keith's singing is outstanding. There are standards such as "East Of The Sun" as well as originals(I feel this CD has some of my best writing ). A few of the tracks are reminiscent of the old "Nat King Cole Trio" (piano, bass, guitar & voice) and showcases one of the world's finest guitarists - a newcomer on the jazz scene - Barry Greene(you gotta check this guy out!). Our drummer is the Jacksonville, FL groovemaker, Von Barlow, who'll make you want to get up and dance with his "shuffle backbeat" on the blues tune "Eyesight To The Blind". He'll then switchup and display his creative chops on mallets over an hypnotic bassline on the African tinged "Tranquility". "Helo From Ipanema" (Track #3) was written for Helo Pinheiro by Keith & me.She was the actual "girl from Ipanema" who inspired Tom Jobim & Vinicius de Moraes to write "The Girl From Ipanema". In the May issue of JAZZIZ Magazine(pg 34), our new song is mentioned within a 2 page article on Helo and Helo herself has stated that she loves our new song for her. "Philanthropy" (Track #1) is a Bebop, Spoken Word tribute to Jazz Artists - past and present. It is one of the more unique compositions in recent years that pays re-spect to Jazz Musicians and the musical art form of Jazz itself. "Summer Rain"(Track #5) happens to be my personal favorite! Thank you for your time & interest and if you do decide to purchase any of our CDs, CDBaby.com will inform us and we will express our appreciation to you personally. Muchas Gracias! Domo Arigato! Xie Xie! Obrigado! phil

The Phil Morrison Trio Featuring Keith Williams
author: Ed Nelson
Congratulations Keith and Phil. I especially love this recording for a lot of reasons. It's great to hear a younger generation passing on the history. Keith we met in 1990 when you played for my daughter's wedding. I would come to hear you at Donte's Underground in Atlanta. I wondered what happen to you. Keep up the good work. I will get down to Florida to hear you all soon.

Their music puts me in front of a warm, crackling fireplace with a glass of red wine on a chilly winter evening...just listening and groovin'. Its got a classic jazz heartbeat yet sports a new age edge and energy. Fabulous! If you love real jazz, THIS IS IT!!
