Ivy " Shadiah" Hylton is an internationally known sacred performance artist,
Sound healer, holistic psychotherapist, recording artist, inspirational speaker, and spiritual healer with over twenty years of experience.

As a practicing psychotherapist, producer, recording artist, lecturer and concert
Vocalist, Shadiah is on the cutting edge of a new paradigm for psychological, physiological and emotional healing. Just as her great aunt, Marianne Anderson, broke through the barriers of racism to dazzle the world with her powerful and spirit filled voice and music, Shadiah is creating music and sound that goes beyond the present use of music, charting a path to new musical practices for this new Millennium.

Shadiah has dedicated her life to empowering people towards the realization of inner peace, personal wholeness, total balance and harmony through music. A pioneer of holistic psychotherapy, Shadiah has served as guest lecturer and field instructor in the School of Social Work for the University of Maryland, University of Alabama, Hong Kong University, Lincoln University, Howard University and Delaware State University. She has published articles for local magazines and professional associations and is a member of The National Association of Social Workers and current President Elect 2002. Shadiah is currently writing her first book entitled SOUND VIBRONICS: "Music Medicine for the Soul"...a guide to mental clarity, Relieving Stress, Finding Serenity and Inner Peace.

Shadiah has been the opening act for several notable best selling authors. She opened for Iyanla Vanzant's, book tour, "Tapping the Power Within," African American Women on Tour, as well as for Depak Chopra, Marion Williamson, Dannion Brinkley, J. California Cooper, Ruby Dee and Sonia Sanchez.

Shadiah serves as a Sacred Sound Workshop facilitator for Inner Visions Worldwide Spiritual Life Maintenance Center, Inc., in Silver Spring, Maryland where she conducts crystal bowl chanting and meditation sessions, and performs for seasonal programs. In 1989 founded Psychological Support Services Institute in Washington, D.C., a freestanding mental health clinic, and served as Co-Owner and Clinical Director for eight years. She is now CEO and Director of Divine Inspirations Training Associates. Offering education in holistic wellness, staff development, youth development and personal enlightenment: a new paradigm for stress management, optimal health and integrative treatment systems. Shadiah is the Associate Director of Sacred Music for the World Community School of Music, Washington, D.C. And has been charged with exploring sacred sound healing traditions of the world. She also is the Vice-President of the New Life Community Wellness Center in Washington, D.C., a non-profit organization.

Shadiah has performed European concert tours with the Golden Gospel Singers and has traveled the United States performing and lecturing with the Whole LIFE EXPO and Wisdom Television. She performs with Bro. Ah's World Music Ensemble and Sounds of Awareness. She is a member of the Washington Performing Arts Society and currently enrolled in the American Institute for Holistic Theology pursing a Doctorate in Divinity.
