From PLANK63's inception they decided to go their own way, stepping out from the lines and moving in their own direction not concerning themselves with fitting into the local scene or the current trends in music. Driven by their desire to write songs they would be proud of, they wanted to create something that would stand the test of time and not get lost in the changing winds of what is popular right now and then forgotten about tomorrow. They wanted something that would proudly influence the sound of other bands and that people could attach themselves to. Their goal has always been to create music for the masses, easily marketable songs that would make their way onto chart topping hard rock radio, music that would pound through car stereos and choruses that would be sung with raised hands in the arenas.
Their previous CD, Divisional, gained them instant attention in the New England rock scene. Their songs and their name were quickly adopted by many of the local major market DJ's, receiving airplay, hype and much respect. Soon they were packing venues with enthusiastic fans, being offered local shows with national acts and being courted by club managers to headline their best nights.
With the release of their new CD, Symmetry, Plank63 is embarking on a new journey. You can hear it in their music, their performance, and their words. More aggressive, energized and focused than ever, they have widened their range and market appeal. With the release of Symmetry's first single, Patchwork, Plank63 has made an undeniable statement. Patchwork remained in the Top 3 of the Hard Rock category of Garageband.com for a record-breaking length of time. They have received countless national and international inquiries about them and their music. Scores of companies releasing compilation CDs have sought out to include Patchwork in their marketing materials. It's even been adopted by some local sports organizations as a their unofficial theme song.
The band prides itself on being more than just a solid writing and recording machine, but a powerful dominating live act to be reckoned with too. Much of their reputation has been spread due to their intense and exhausting live show, where they adopted the saying: "Bring it and leave everything you've got onstage." They are something to see and experience, not just heard.
There are bands you like, there are bands you love, and then there are the bands that become a part of you.

This is a great CD with some great heavy rock. I'd strongly reccomend it to anyone who is into good rock.

author: brhokel@hotmail.comThis is a awesome CD, I first heard the band on Z-98 in Sioux City Iowa, they won the new rock and are now regularly played. I must say that I am really impressed with the quality and depth of the CD. Patchwork is still my favorite song but the cd gets better and better everytime I hear it. This should be there break out CD. Great addition to the new rock scene, it is hard to find CD's that are great all the way through...but this one is. Buy it and you won't be disappointed. Hope to hear more from Plank 63, keep up the great work!
An awesome cd
author: JeremyI found out about Plank63:Symmetry on garageband.com and listened to and loved the sample tracks then puchased the cd through CDBaby.com. A very well mixed hard/metal music masterpiece. Vocals are edgy but clear and easy to follow (no growling!) I definently would recommend this cd to any of my friends and anyone else that loves hard rock/heavy metal.

Produced by Jim Foster (Gangsta Bitch Barbie/Nullset), the album is has a brilliant sound that goes from heavy to melodic and back capturing the true talent and potential of this Boston-based quartet. From the very first riffs in “Breathing” to the last drumbeat in “The Bitter End” the music and vocals will keep you poised at your speakers waiting for the next song to begin. Technically, the album flows very well, starting off strong with catchy guitar riffs and intelligent vocals then moving into slower heart-wrenching stories told both lyrically and musically. On many of the songs, you can almost hear the guitar singing background vocals. The bass and percussion give the songs the backbone they need to stand out as heavy yet not overpower the guitar and vocals. This album has been catching the eye and ear of people all over the world, with “Patchwork” daring to defy the odds at Garageband (http://www.garageband.com/artist/plank63) by remaining in the top five for an astonishing year and a half, having been granted the honor of Track of the Day and Track of the Week on numerous occasions, as well as Best Drums, Best Male Vocals, Best Production and Rocking Track. This is followed up by the track “Face Off” which is quickly following in “Patchwork’s” footsteps, already attaining the coveted round three status on Garageband and having been Track of the Day in it’s first week on the site, and continues to win various awards. And it doesn’t stop there, there are 10 more songs (plus the bonus track) that will continue to rip your “Face Off” and leave you ready for more.

The Bleed and One Step Away are instant radio hits..I have never been more impressed with a band that I have never heard of!! If you like Shinedown, Tantric, and STP you will love this band as well!!

Every song is radio worthy and extremely catchy!! I highly reccomend this cd to anyone who enjoys "In Your Face" hard rock music.. The Bleed and Face Off are my favorites.
