notes

Here it is kids! The second Planet Farm album featuring over an hour of imrovisational electronic jams with an organic drum and bass sound. Read this review from the Cleveland Steamer Daily News & Reviews:

"Planet Farm: neither a planet nor a farm...Such is the fundamental quandary that baffles many a fan of experimental music. However, as one who has been to the Planet Farm and back, I offer this brief exposition to illuminate the aural landscape created by this band. The Planet Farm sound starts from the ground up: a combination of Matt Lesser's acoustic and electronic percussion with the bass thump of Ryan Rost that locks together in tribal rhythms with jazz precision. Add to this the sepia-toned melodies and alien squeals of Dave Tibbetts' guitar and you go into a trance again, only to wake up in an elevator or a carniceria, thinking...neither a planet nor a farm...

Planet Farm drapes shades of trip-hop and trance over organic funk, latin, and jazz structures. Don't just take my word for it confused reader. Imagine a three-way conference call between a monkey, a robot, and an alien. Kind of sexy isn't it? Now you're getting the idea! Planet farm's sound is the auditory manifestation of the divine orgasmic presence in all simian, extra-terrestrial, and mechanical organisms. A mixture of acoustic and electronic rhythms and melodies that kicks you in the dirt before it takes you to the stars. This is music for all occasions including, but not limited to, Super bowl parties, intimate after dinner nightcaps with older women, kindergarten play groups, or the next dentist visit involving a general anesthetic. Whatever yur environment is, Planet Farm will simultaneously expand your mind, make your belly warm, and teach you who's boss, all in just minutes!

Neither a planet nor a farm...Oh, I do know your tricks dear reader. I wish it were as easy as either planet or farm. Then again if it were that easy then we wouldn't need the band here to show us. To give us a big sonic hug when we're down, or give us a little pat on the tush when we're naughty. To help us remember our address. To teach us that, before we try to see the one-ness in all things, we try to see the all-ness in one thing...like say, a flower, or a fingernail that someone chewed and accidentally spit in our caesar salad. Listen to this band and tell your friends. Planet Farm will make you happier!
