Jonathan Heslop (Planet Bliss) has been producing Electronic music since the mid 90s having been influenced by up-tempo artists like Orbital, The Chemical Brothers and down-tempo/Ambient artist like Edge of Motion, Brian Eno, Fila Brazillia. His music combines intricate, powerful beats with multi-layered and evolving synth soundscapes.
From 1996 to 1998 Jonathan studied Popular Music at the "Carlisle Collage of Art and Design". Over the 2 year course he learned how to work in a live and studio environment. Learning some key skills in stage setup, live recording and mastering/production. It was during, but outside this course that Jonathan progressed his skills at using Synthesizers, Samplers, Computers and his composition skills.
In 2001 Jonathan's track "Falling Down" was used in the short, independent film "Rope" directed by Seth Hardwick:
"... desire, despair... and date rape. A blind date goes blindingly wrong when Alan and Heather decide to take matters into their own hands ..."
In 2003 Jonathan was contacted by the U.S. Air Force. They wanted to use his track "Spacewave" in one of their training programs. All other information is classified . . .
In 2004 three of Jonathan's tracks were used in "The Ultimate Matrix Collection".
Ever Since he first plugged in a sound module Jonathan has been fascinated with creating "synthetic" sounds. From lush, dreamy pads to euphoric leads. Jonathan has gone through many synthesizers creating sounds for his music and for other like mided musicians.
Jonathan is currently Finishing off his first Album for release in mid/late 2005. He is also working on Down Tempo re-mixes for independent and commercial artists including Faithless, FSOL and Artefact.
