The many-faceted talent and showmanship of Pilita Corrales
is showcased in this album containing twelve songs written
by Filipino composers who have excelled in their works and at the prime of their careers. While some of the melodies are those which garnered top spots on the much-coveted
Philippine Hit Parade (such as the pace-setter, "Diyos lamang ang Nakakaalam"), there is also a batch of favorites
in the "classic" category, included for good measure.
Altogether fitting, then,that this album is titled -
"MUSIKA PILIPINA".
The result is most gratifying for here is Pilita in many
moods and style of music as beautifully played and skillfully arranged by famous arangers such as Doming Amarillo, Willy Cruz, Domeng Valdez and Mr. Dominic Salustiano.

A Must-Have for Collectors of Classic Filipino Music
author: Eleanor SerranoI ordered this for the song "Lambingan" which happens to be my mother's favorite song. I am going to use it as an accompaniment for a slideshow presentation I am making of her pictures for her 95th birthday. I was pleasantly surprised that it includes other songs I have not heard in a long time -- Diyos Lamang Ang Nakakaalam and Dalagang Pilipina. That these songs were performed by Pilita Corrales is the icing on the cake. Nothing like a healthy dose of kundiman nostalgia to make one wish to go home and experience "harana" and "pistahan" all over again.
