Somewhere between Elliot Smith and the less sensational movements of Nick Cave, Phil Lomac studies the dim with a stoned sense of curiosity. Place means a lot to records. And though this album doesn’t describe North Carolina too much it does describe the evolution of college rock (as it was once known) in America. That market that rarely hands over artists to mass consumption. Phil Lomac definitely has a sound that belongs to the experimental popster. The approach doesn’t involve a lot of noise which is good news to me. The core is pure, rich with instrumentation instead of fuzz and distortion. ENIGMA ONLINE

Lomac obviously likes to take some chances, and this makes the music exciting an
author: MISH MASH MUSIC REVIEWSPhil Lomac's music is rock-based, relying on the use of angst and dynamics. Generally quiet and introspective, Lomac thrusts and parries with bursts of energy and loud guitars when the moment seems right. At times the music reminds me Pink Floyd, if only for the understated vocals and the rambling nature of the song structures. Lomac obviously likes to take some chances, and this makes the music exciting and unpredictable---but at the same time, he doesn't go too far off track, which keeps the listener engaged from beginning to end.
