* Patrick (dubbed 'Mr. Right On Time') is a dynamic, explosive live performer on stage. So it was inevitable that after years of performing songs of his favorite rhythm and blues artists he would eventually go into the studio to record his own. And the end result is this wonderful CD that captures his fiery original style and individuality.

* "Long Time Comin'" starts off with the title track of the same name, giving you an indication that this is going to be a high-impact, rockin', horns-sounding, soulful ride all the way to the finish. Each song is so musically as well as vocally strong, you find yourself playing them over and over again because of their uniqueness.

* A Louisiana native all his life, Patrick grew up listening to southern soul music, rock & roll music, and rhythm & blues music. He joined a band early on (Grady Gaines & The Texas Upsetters [Grady: former saxman for Little Richard] ) and began touring and singing lead. He has established a following of loyal fans, especially in the Houston, Tx./Louisiana area.

* Patrick is very excited about promoting his new album and is currently getting ready to tour the club circuits all over the south. Look out for him in an area near you! It's sure has been "A Long Time Comin'"!

  • Long Time Comin'
    author: David Beebe

I have been seeing Patrick Harris since the early 1990's in Houston with Grady Gaines. This is a great record that showcases his versatility. It's produced and most of the songs are written by his amazing brother Rick Harris, who also used to sing and play bass with Grady. To anyone who is a fan of grown folks style R&B you will enjoy this CD. And if you get a chance to see Patrick in action, for goodness sakes GO SEE HIM! He is an amzing, extremely high energy performer. I'm looking forward to the next CD! - David Beebe, Tuesday late night DJ, KRTS 93.5 FM, Marfa Public Radio, Marfa, TX

Patrick Harris' 2006 EP "Right On Time" was an impressive introduction from this versatile singer mixing chuggin' Southern Soul with Downhome Blues and lil' Contemporary Pop/R & B. Now we get the full monty with this 11-track release. Two downright great tracks merit mention first. The upbeat, head-bobbin, shoulder rollin' "Give Her What She's Been Missin'" is one of those modern Memphis Soul shuffle bumpers that folks like Theodis Ealey have been scorin' with. Harris has a strong rasp to his singing and the production is thick enough to compete with big leaguers in this genre. It's darn good advice too. Not the first song to remind you to take care of your homework or somebody else (Jody) will but it's always needed to break up a run of cheatin'/mack daddy/horndog songs on radio. "Right On Time" is another bouncy cut full of hooks. A straight up ode to his woman who's the "best thing in my life". These were two strong singles that made an impact in the Southern Soul world. Of the newest additions the smooth ballad "Moan" rates the highest, featuring a Bobby Womack-kissed vocal. "I Fooled You This Time" also bares a Womack influence. "Missin' Your Love" is a breezy, beat ballad that has an 80s feel while "Gotta Lotta Lovin" is a Bluesy dancer similar to "I've Changed My Ways". A good collection that merits your attention. Of the ever crowding school of independent "Southern Soul" singers Harris ranks highly in my book.
