Peter Dixon was born in London, England and grew up in Manhattan. He is a musician and composer and was the keyboard player for the band Combustible Edison from 1991-1997. He wrote "The Millionaire’s Holiday", "Theme from the Tiki Wonder Hour", "Breakfast at Denny’s" and "Carnival of Souls" for the band’s debut album "I, Swinger", on Sub Pop records. He also wrote, "Short Double Latte" and "Solid State" for the second album "Schizophonic!" and "20th Century Limited" for the band’s third album The Impossible World. The band performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on December 23, 1994.

The band also wrote and recorded most of the soundtrack to the film Four Rooms, directed by Quentin Tarantino, Alison Anders, Robert Rodriguez and Alexandre Rockwell. The music was produced by Mark Mothersbaugh . Music from the band has appeared as backdrop music on the NPR program This American Life, a number of commercials, the film Search and Destroy as well as transition music to commercials on Regis and Kathy Lee(!). "Breakfast at Denny's" was used in an early episode of Sex and the City. In 1981, Peter Dixon formed, a rock band called Christmas with Michael Cudahy and Liz Cox. Before playing in Christmas he was in the new wave band CCCP-TV.
