notes

Peter Aston is a Christian Singer/Songwriter based at Holtwood Methodist Church in Dorset, near the beautiful south coast of England. "Name in the Sand" contains 12 orginal tracks ranging from the folk/rock of "Make Your Choice" to ballads such as "Seven Days" and dramatic songs such as "I was There" which tells the story of the Crucifixion from the point of view of a Roman soldier who was the executioner! One of the most popular tracks on the CD is "The Greatest Gift" which has the central message that the Greatest Gift ever given was never hung on a Christmas tree at all - but on a tree at Calvary. The CD has been featured on many radio stations and has sold well both in the UK and abroad including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Ireland. • Great Job!

The folk rock feel of many of these songs makes them very versatile and fit into many settings - whether it be a church or on the street corner. Being from Texas, I really enjoyed the feel of "Superstars." The over all production of the CD is very good. The lyrics show a deep understand of the Bible and Christianity - not the "light pop prose" that sadly finds it way in Christian's music. Maybe God continue to bless you Peter and in the work that He has for you!

This CD offers lots of gently flowing music with lyrics that speak of powerful Christian truths. The more I listen to it the more I appreciate the inspiration behind the songs; it’s all about the Lord! What more could anyone want? Well done Peter!

Like the lyric (for 'Make Your Choice'), the music is simple, catchy and has a direct, stand-alone chorus you easily remember. A playful, pop song feel with a Gospel message. Who says it has to be all soulful gospel choirs or fire and brimstone? Why not infectious, catchy pop music too?

The words of 'Name in the Sand' really spoke to our hearts and we trust that they will also speak to the hearts of those we seek to minister to.
