Mr
author: Chris SainsburyThe 'Masterworks' Series Volume 8 CD is a great addition to any collection. For me, in particular the Bilotta Concerto for Wind Qt, the Yeagley piece - Ha Nitzol and the Glesser piece - By Five are works that should receive repetitive performances around the globe. Conductors (and broadcasters) take note! Seroiusly! As well, most (not all) of the other works on the CD are worthy contributions, and I'll play them often. It is apparent that ERM Media is leading the way in the recording of contemporary music! ERM makes some big claims and the title 'Masterworks' is one such claim, yet the composers I've highlighted above are among the new 'big guns' of contemporary music, so why not match it with big claims! Another aspect is the sheer volume of pieces in the set. It's fantastic for the bucks! I've also got volume 11 and am yet to open it. More on that later. This is all my professional view (as a composer and music teacher). Congratulations to all involved! Chris Sainsbury
