notes

Paul's new CD "Rhythm Of The Seasons" is a love song to the Earth. It's over an hour of original music, and all instruments are played by Paul. There are two songs for solo flute played on a replica of an 1100-year-old Anasazi flute, created by Michael Graham Allen/a.k.a. Coyote Oldman.

Paul is originally from Albany, New York, and now resides in Panama City, Florida. He has lived in the Green Mountains of Vermont, on the Maine coast, in the Chihuahuan Desert of the West Texas border country, and in Big Cypress Swamp in South Florida. He loves the wild places.

He researches the history and performance techniques of ethnic flutes, as well as drums and other wind instruments. He plays Native American flutes, Japanese Shakuhachi, Bansuri from India, Didgeridoo from Australia, Dvoyanka from Eastern Europe, Overtone Flute from Norway, Celtic Tin Whistle, Mijwiz from Egypt, Tarka, Quena, and Pan Flute from South America, etc.

Paul is also a flute maker, creating both transverse and Native American style flutes out of local bamboo.

Paul is a Certified Volunteer for Covenant Hospice, and has played flutes for many people under Hospice care.

He is the founder and facilitator of the Loggerhead Flute Circle of Bay County, in which local flute players meet periodically to jam, talk shop, and exchange information.

Paul loves to drum, and plays West African djembe with the Mother Earth Drummers.

Paul is available for concerts and workshops: ravenbear47@yahoo.com
