INTRODUCING Paulie Cerra!! A commanding and refreshing original artist blessed with a distinctively soulful voice whether singing or playing saxophone; Paulie is an artist to be reckoned with. Drawing influence from a broad spectrum, his songs weave tales of real life stories of love, heartache, pain, joy and optimism. Whether the Ray Charles influenced “Weak In The Knees”, the Sam Cooke-ish gospel-blues of “Nice To Be Home Again”, the rocking Joe Cocker tinged lead off “A Much Better Place” the soulful, finely crafted “My Angel’s Smile” or house rocking good time sounds of “On My Way Home” and “Down The Road”, there is something new and exciting around each corner for the listener. A mix of simplicity and sophistication makes this collection of songs accessible and invigorating.
Having spent years on the road touring the world over and recording with many of the top blues and R&B acts including Stevie Wonder, Kirk Franklin, Lucky Peterson, Luther Allison, Little Milton, Bobby Bland, Billy Preston and Jimmy Johnson to name but a few, has laid the foundation for this versatile and dynamic performer. A true “quadruple threat” singer, saxophonist, songwriter and producer, “A Sliver of the Moon” represents the launching of a bold new artist with passion, power and emotion rarely found in modern music.
“A Sliver of the Moon,” includes many of LA’s finest session players including guitar master Albert Lee (Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitte), drummer extraordinaire James Gadson (Bill Withers, Herbie Hancock, Steely Dan, Paul McCartney) and world-class trumpeter Lee Thornburg (Tower of Power, Supertramp and current Jay Leno Tonight Show Band member) along with longtime friend and Dallas based guitar ace Todd Parsnow (Roy Hargrove’s H-Factor, Les McCann, Lucky Peterson). This CD features Paulie’s soaring vocals and songwriting skills along with his soulful sax playing and first-rate production throughout… so with pride we present Paulie Cerra!!!

Highly recommended by a friend and our first taste of Paulie Cerra. Received the CD quick from CD Baby and wore it out over the weekend. Simply excellent music, wonderful Sax and just a joy to listen to. Have a three disc CD changer and kept waiting for it to come around again. The Sax on #3 Nice to be home again and #11 While we're at it will send shivers down your neck and if you are fortunate enough to have Altec 19 Horn speakers it is apparent that the Sax is meant to be played on horns. Deffinately worth the price of admission and would love to see Paulie at the new Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center at the original site of Woodstock 1969.
