Guitarist Paul Geller has been active on the Bay Area music scene for over the last 20 years. He started out playing in bars and clubs in his high school years in 1985 and has remained involved in various musical projects ever since that time. Paul has opened for many artists such as Carlos Santana and Toto's Bobby Kimball. Playing gigs all around California with cover bands and original projects has kept him busy working with many talented musicians. He currently teaches 35 guitar students weekly along with group guitar classes in after school music programs. In addition Paul writes and produces music for film, multimedia and tv. Scoring guitar parts on corporate videos, independent films and commercials. Some of his clients include Autodesk Software, Fox Sports Network, The Northface and The City of San Francisco. He keeps busy writing songs and playing on a variety of cds and demos for many artists ranging from pop singer- songwriters to San Francisco punk rockers The Nuns. He enjoys producing cds for local talent whether it's a song or two or a complete cd. He also is a pilot editor for the FJH Publishing Company assisting in reviewing and editiing beginning guitar lesson books. Paul performs many gigs from solo guitar - playing cafes, parties and weddings to full band playing rock, r n b , blues, funk, dance and standards for corporate events, concerts and festivals. Some of his clients include Starbucks Coffee,American Cancer Society, Mill Valley Film Festival and Guide Dogs for the Blind. Guitarist Paul Geller's debut CD, "A Walk Down Familiar Paths" released in May of 2005 features 9 original songs all played on acoustic guitar, parlor guitar, slide guitar, dobro and mandolin. Unplugged and without bass and drums these songs feature a wide variety of open tunings and organic melodies
I am still playing lots of electric guitar of course but my love for the acoustic guitar sounds took over and I started writing songs and exploring various open tunings and the final result was" A Walk Down Familiar Paths". I was fortunate to work with Guitarist Neal Harris to record, mix and master the cd. He is an amazing musician, great friend and has a great pair of ears! Neal has worked with many great artists and engineered the grammy nominated "The Water Garden" by Alex DeGrassi. I was Inspired by the great acoustic players Jerry Douglas, Leo Kottke, Ledward Kaapana, Keola Beamer and Alex De Grassi when making this cd. The music is written about special people and beautiful places that are very important to me. Often I found myself hiking the paths near my home with my dog Janna and feeling really inspired to write songs that remind me of the people and places that I enjoy so much, some near and some far off in the Pacific Ocean. The title " A Walk Down Familiar Paths " is my tribute to Janna who became sick during the recording of the cd but was around during all the long nights hanging on the couch composing these songs. When you give this cd a listen - I hope it takes you on "A Walk Down Familiar Paths" to those places that touch your soul...

inspirational and sensitive medley-- Paul Geller is awesome!

A giant step forward for Paul's path toward musical excellence.
author: "Fingers"Paul's first album is a GEM! Through his musical talents and inspiration, the album is a giant step on Paul's path toward musical success. His mastery of the instruments is replicated in each cut. Paul's exceptional musical talent is revealed over and over. I would recommend this album to anyone who loves the guitar
Amazing ballads
author: Angie ShepardsonThis C.D. is so deeply moving. And, of course, Song 5 is my favorite! It makes me want to take a long roadtrip, and call everyone I care about. Great work, Paul, as always. I can't wait until the next C.D.
Outstanding CD!
author: Jeff GiedtThis is an outstanding CD. Great variety of songs, both relaxing and upbeat. Everyone who hears it playing in our home wants to know who the artist is. Paul Geller must be developing quite a following from this debut. I look forward to his next work.
The man can play!
author: Johnny BMr. Geller can bring you to places nobody can. The ride down the track "Highway 1" is a testament to his musical ability to take the listener to different locale. "Leona" is a heartfelt acoustic ballad with no equal in its precise presentation. The "Indian Valley" is another song which will evoke a sense of time not passing, so much as time being relative to ones own relaxation and reflections. The remaining tracks are all as satisfying as the ones above. " A Walk Down Familiar Paths" is as pleasing as a California sunset with a good bottle of wine and a woman who is easy. Buy it!
Classic Romantic Beach Bonfire Listening
author: Tunepoet - DamonIf music were an accurate expression of the artist’s character, Mr. Geller would have to be a consummately nice guy. This is not music that will get your daughter drunk and leave her passed out beside a tour bus, but it would be excellent listening for her graduation party. All these tunes are absolutely easy on the senses, and in no way jarring or crass. The recording quality is excellent. The tunes are not boldly diverse, but consistently comforting. You walk away from this album feeling like you have just been given a 6 stringed hug. Great music for background listening during an intimate get together with friends, or for sharing some time with that “special someone” around the beach bonfire. I this album give it 5 Stars because you do not often find music this healthy, warm, and friendly.

This is a really special CD! Paul incorporates so many different acoustic styles that compliment one another yet never allow one to be bored listening. His music does not force a feeling but rather allows and suggests your own walk down familiar paths :).
This CD Is Awesome!

Awesome, creative. This guy is a real talent.
author: Alex FishThis CD is clearly influenced by down home, southern fried blues and soulful country. While it is a guitar player's CD, it also appeals to the musically uninclined. The haunting, distant twangs and the peaceful strumming of the steel strings make this a must-have in your listening repetoire.
I absolutely love Paul's CD. I was playing it constantly when I first got it.
author: Helen StavrouI absolutely love paul's CD. It is so easy to listen to. I play it quite a bit. It's the kinda CD you can put in any time you want a little soothing sound. Paul has a very talented way of carrying you through fields of wild flowers or down a woodsy, windy trail along a trickling waterfall through his quitar mastery. Congratulations to Paul Geller for generously delivering his passion to all of us.

Effortless arrangements, variation in acoustic style, combined with brilliant guitar playing has made me a fan. So great...I haven't taken it out of my CD player since I bought it!
Great as you journey in your car for a peaceful getaway.
author: AaronUnlike most acoustical artists this cd changes style and sound from one track to another starting with a since of free spirited travels in the country, to rock, and blues. Basically, never a repeated track. Nice and relaxing!

One of the best acoustic solo albums I've heard in a long time! I just checked out this album and have not stopped listening to it since. The album really sets a great acoustic mood with sensitive and harmonically invigorating compositions throughout. The alternate open tunings, harmonics, and intruiging voice-leading really demonstrates a clear sense of style and advanced musicianship found on this album. I would definately recommend it as one of the best solo acoustic guitar CDs in my collection.
Inspiring instrumental to relax your soul....
author: Tim FerdunThere are touches of many players and styles on the mellow instrumental. If acoustic Jimmy Page moved to Hawaii and took up lap steel this is part of what you will hear. This is a VERY enjoyable collection of songs. I highly recommend it!
