notes
Parallel Worlds music is a combination of dreamy/atmospheric textures with pure analogue electronic rhythms and sequences, combining the feel of 70s electronic music with modern electronica and ambient music. For Parallel Worlds, melody is essential, but most important is emotional context. Bakis' tracks try to reach to the listener's heart and mind.
Influences all these years have been the music of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Robert Rich, Steve Roach,
Pete Namlook, J-M Jarre, Biosphere, Autechre, Plaid,
Plone, Seefeel and other experimental artists.
Parallel Worlds use huge Analogue Modulars and Analogue Step Sequencers of the past and present combined with digital FM and virtual analogue synths and sampling.
Parallel Worlds are the main project of Bakis Sirros(with some ocassional colaborators). They were originaly born in 1994, but only after 1998 they started to be a part of the active greek electronic music scene.
Parallel Worlds, so far, have participated with a track in an electronic music compilation in the greek label RUBBER RECORDINGS called "Cool, calm and collected" and in the LOOPSNOO RECORDS ambient compilation "Loopsmooth chapter one". In 2003, they participated in the new cd compilation from RUBBER RECORDINGS called "Deep Tones 01".
In the end of 2003, the debut Parallel Worlds album called "Existence" was released and in the start of 2004 the second Parallel Worlds album has been released by SHIMA RECORDS called "Insight".
(also, look out for the third full-length Parallel Worlds album out in October 2004 from SHIMA RECORDS.)
Bakis Sirros is also an artist in the new UK label WARD12 with a participation of two tracks in their upcoming cd compilation, under the project name POLARITON.
In parallel, Bakis sirros is the moderator of the Doepfer A100 modular users group, helping, in an important way, the progress of the tools for experimental electronic music in the 21st century.
During these last 4 years, Parallel Worlds have played live also, participating in the E-PHOS electronic music festival in summer of 2001, and in some other greek venues.

This 2nd album from the greek electronic music group is simply amazing. When I played it the first few times it reminded me a bit about some of the best Aphex Twin works, but I certainly think that Parallel Worlds is very original in his compositions as well. The sound on the album is very vintage sounding, but the music is more up to date or how can I describe it, it fits perfectly in my opinion. Track 9 is my absolute fave on this release, also including mellotron sounds and it somehow reminds me of some of the good Tangerine Dream tracks. I really recommend this album to any serious EM fan.
awesome!

Highly inspired melodies and sound programming. One of the best albums in electronic music ever!
Great ambient record
author: Fernando ZaroneThis is one of the most interesting CDs I've enjoyed in the last months. Ethereal atmosphere, intriguing analogue sequences, fascinating synth textures, very introspective moods. Bakis is a sound wizard and his tracks are a stairway to dream!

There are some really nice atmospheres to find here.
excellent work
author: Richard Lawson - RL music ( www.rlmusic.co.uk )I feel Bakis has successfully managed to produce a wholly original album which I thoroughly enjoyed from the first play. The Insight Album has a great mix of industrial, ambient, moody and rhythmical tracks with track 4 (The Past) being my favorite. Producing original electronic music is a complex and challenging feat for anyone and Bakis proves his skills with analogue synthesis in his music. Bakis has an impressive list of vintage and contemporary analogue synthesizers at his disposal and it’s wonderful to see these used in music production as many owners (myself included) always find excuses that we can’t pull this off. Well done Bakis – excellent work.

An album that gives strong emotions, very atmospheric sounds with a very professional performance. Strongly reminiscent from the old good era of pure electronic music. Well done Bakis, we are expecting much more from you
Great music
author: synaInsight is a great album. It reminds me of a movie soundtrack and has a dark atmospheric feel. Those sounds coming from the modular synths are really huge. If you like moody electronic sound, then you should not hesitate to buy it.

During the weekend I had the time to listen to this CD after all. I really love it. It think my favourite is "dark and blue" (if I remember rightly the title as I don't have the CD in the company) but all parts are excellent.
nice electronic moments
author: laptopThis album is better to be listened to at evenings."Salty air" is my favourite track.
an excellent release!
author: johna very interesting album, maybe the most interesting album of the last year.my favourite album tracks are "salty air" and "insight".fans of pure analogue sounds will love this album for sure.the photos of the cd artwork in combination with the atmospheric music took me to a pleasant journey in far-away electronic landscapes.
great atmospheric and dark electronica.
author: modmanthis is a really recommended album, full of dark atmospheric tracks with beautiful analogue sequences and modern synthetic soundscapes.this album combines the analogue sounds of the 70's with the modern downtempo electronica feel of this decade.most of the tracks on this album have complex electronic rhythms always combined with strong(and strange) melodic elements.
