Olga Papikian began her professional piano studies in 1986 at Gnessin Special Music School in Moscow and the following year she began her concert activities, appearing regularly with Philharmonic orchestras (such as Uljanovsk Philharmonic Orchestra under Andrey Boreyko) and giving solo concerts and recitals in Moscow and other Russian cities.
In 1991 Olga took part in the concerts at the Europe Association of Piano Teachers Congress in Graz, Austria. The following year she won a place at the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire Music College, studying under Professor Tigran Alichanov and graduated with honours in 1996. Since then Olga has appeared regularly on the world famous stages of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire.
In 1995 Olga toured in San-Paulo and other cities of Brazil as a solo pianist and as a member of a chamber ensemble. In the following year she won a place at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, where she studied under Professor Nikolai Petrov (piano) and Valentina Sherbinina (singing) , graduated with honours in 2001 and in 2002-2004 completed the Postgraduate course at the Conservatoire studying under Professor Igor Kotlyarevsky. In 2000-2005 Olga participated in master courses held by Professor of the Musikhochschule Zurich Hans Schicker. Since 2004 she has been studying under the Professor of the Munich University of Music Hanno Blaschke (singing)
In 1997 she won the 2nd Prize at the Newport International Piano Competition where she performed the 1st Concerto by Franz Liszt with the BBC Orchestra of Wales conducted by Howard Shelley. In 2001 Olga took part in the Musical Festival “Russian winter”, held in the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire and in other cities of Russia, where she performed Concertos for two pianos and orchestra by Felix Mendelssohn, and in the Festival “Musical Kremlin” (recital). The same year she won Diploma at the International J. Brahms Competition (Poertschach, Austria) in category “chamber music”.
In 2002 Olga participated in the International Music Festival named after J. S. Bach held in Tver, Russia, having performed the Concerto for four pianos and orchestra by J. S. Bach, the first performance of which in Russia after a twenty-year-break took place at the Great hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire the following year.
In 2005 Olga took part in the Festival, held at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, during the celebration of the anniversary of the end of the Second World War, where as a member of the “Sheremetyev Ensemble” she performed works by composers of 20th century, the live Radio and TV recordings were made during the performance and special Radio recording sessions took place the following days.
In 2001-2004 she worked as a teacher of solo piano and chamber music at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire Music College.
Since 2005 Olga has been living in Germany (Munich) and has been working as a teacher for piano and singing. She gives concerts both as a solo pianist and as a member of chamber ensembles in West Europe and Russia. She also makes recordings under different labels.
