notes

I can still hear the humming of the bassline vibrating thru the wooden walls of the efficiency apartment back in Panama. (central america).
My father and his friends where always in the apartment next door....that was their (hang out spot) card games, dominoes, bongoes and timbales playing, and a record player with the arm that holds the 45's (records) up and dropped them one by one.
I heard everything from Cuban songs, Salsa, Calipso, Reggae, Haitian...you name it, James Brown, Bob Marley, Nat King Cole to name a few. after all Panama is The Bridge of The World. all kinds of World goods come thru the Canal, all kinds of people built the Canal and their music came along, that is why We are so versatile and not limited when it comes to music. while in Panama I heard Rappers Delight (Sugar Hill Gang) even though I did not understand a word they were saying, I was really digging it. At around the same time there was an artist in Panama who's name is Pedro Altamiranda whom was not well liked by the political powers, but loved by the people. I think you have an idea of where I am going with this.......Adios Panama (still love you) Hello USA. I am introduce to Hip Hop, yes the whole package. Break Dancing, DJ'ing and Writing (Graffiti or Tagging)
I bleed Hip Hop, and that's that. I bought records instead of a 1 @ McDonald's. I bought needles for my Technic 1200's instead of the Shelltoes. I made beats instead of hanging in one spot or corner. I used an 808 drum machine, and a 4 track recorder to create magic. I ciphered and battle some of the best MC's in the Washington DC metropolitan area. After DC I headed to Brooklyn, then New Jersey where I completed "Dicho y Hecho" with the help of some of Panama's most talented Artists and GOD as my guiding light. Feature Artists on Dicho y Hecho are: Dun Dun of the talented Panamanian group Los Rakas, Alfredito Payne (living legend) Latin Fresh one of Panama's best and well known latin reggae artist, Prince Balboa one of Panama's up and coming and very talented artist, Alphabeto also up and coming artist from Panama and also El Maleante one of panama's colorful and amazing lyricist. Production on Dicho y Hecho by: Problem Child, Illdecibel, Creative, and Zulu and yours truly Da Foreigna.
