One Way Rider
One Way Rider is a family band that performs a unique combination of Traditional Bluegrass, Newgrass, country, Gospel, Acappella, & Progressive Appalachian.
OWR consists of mother Valerie Fay Mayfield, father David Lee Mayfield, & children Amanda Lynn, Jessica Lea (Chittlin) and Bass Boy.
Together they create an enchanting spectrum of sound, that sends the listener on a mystical journey through time. With an entertaining and comedic stage show that the entire family is sure to enjoy.
Just listen to what they're sayin' about One Way Rider:
"You can't help but feel good listening to One Way Rider! Their musicality draws you in, from their intricate and fast-paced instrumentals, to their smooth vocal harmonies, the talent of this family bluegrass band literally bursts from the stage. Seeing One Way Rider live is an uplifting and unforgettable musical experience."
~Catherine Cala, WYSU FM
"One Way Rider has taken Nashville by storm! We had a great time with One Way Rider when they visited Nashville, Tenn. It was so good to be with folks that live and love the bluegrass way, truly a blessed family. David and Valerie are a great example of a family can accomplish together."
~Marcia Campbell, Interstate Radio Network Nashville, Tenn.
"One Way Rider has performed at our shows for the past five years. They provide a high-energy show, put their heart into their music, and work hard to please a crowd. One thing special about this group is that they perform a majority of their own material. If you make them a part of your show I guarantee you will be pleased with their performance.
~Jimmie and Fonda Skinner, Promoters Bluegrass Junction, Ohio
"One Way Rider is a very energetic, enthusiastic band, working very hard at promoting their music. This young family is headed for stardom. Let's wish them luck and success.
~Joyce Owstoskey, Northeast Ohio Bluegrass Newsletter
"It was an honor to have One Way Rider perform on the Interstate Radio Network, a network of over twenty stations that broadcast from Music City and airs nation-wide and in Canada. Locally in Nashville, the IRN broadcast on WSM 650AM, the home of the Grand Ole Opry. The response was great! We can't wait until we can have them come back on air and play for us again."
~Marcia Campbell, Interstate Radio Network Nashville, Tenn.

WOW! Outstanding! Are these guys rich yet?
author: Aries RamblerGuesses River is a wonderful blend of old-time bluegrass, gospel, newgrass, country and there's even a great instrumental on it! I enjoy listening to it over and over, taking breaks, then repeating the process. The songs are catchy and well written, but the music is what really shines. I enjoy that bluegrass pickin' and these guys are amazing! And only one thing I can say about the Ratcreek Concerto...WOW! I haven't heard pickin like that since Tony Trishka's legendary Banjoland! Stuart Duncan and Alan Obryant are a nice additiion to the album too:) Highly recommended.
